Got my first round interview with Amazon this week, any tips for success?

I’m really depressed in my current role. In fact, I had a nightmare about being fired last night. I am anxious at work and worried about what will be nitpicked when I submit my work. I wish I knew what exactly I wanted to do in life, but I do have bills to pay! Does anyone work at a company with a positive team culture that doesn’t shame you for asking questions or for help? And that doesn’t care what font or colors you use? I feel so constricted!

How long after you interview with a Big 4 (i.e. EY) can you expect to hear back from HR?

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? TIA!

I have the opportunity to move to a small boutique data science and data engineering consulting firm that would pay better with less hours. However, would it stunt my growth without a big 4 tag? It has more opportunities for technical growth and certifications but will push me into a more specialized role. I am mostly worried about the trade off between staying until Manager or upper senior and cashing out then. Does anyone have insight on how the two may differ in future career opportunities?

Any tips on increasing calories throughout the day? I’m supposed to eat 3200 to maintain but want to lose weight and eat around 2200 to have a 30% deficit. I completely dislike 30 minutes interviews. In past experiences, interviews that went for an hour or so, I always got the job. 30 minutes don’t give the opportunity for the interviewer to get to know you well. This happened recently as they kept going on and on, only for me to interrupt in the last 3 minutes to ask about compensation and benefits. Do interviewers assume everyone is fighting over to get the job? When do I get to ask questions to see if your company suits me ?

I got an informal offer stating the salary range before they officially extend a written offer. I accepted over email and the recruiter said this:

Are you comfortable accepting at the (lowest part of the range) and everything else listed? Or would it need to be on the higher end of the range I suggested?

What the heck do I say while being polite??? Of course I would rather it be higher than the lowest part of the range!!

I have a panel interview at Apple for a legal position coming up. It will include, I’ve been told by the recruiter, two drafting exercises during the all-day interview. Hello! I had 4 pretty thorough interviews and then a project I thought I did really well on. My final interview was last Monday, and I followed up this Monday so exactly a week. When I followed up yesterday the recruiter said she’d check with the team and get back to me tomorrow ( which would have been today)
I haven’t heard anything else.. should I be under the impression that I didn’t get the job? I’m just trying to be realistic, and mentally prepared if that’s the case.

I have the manager and VP's email addresses. I thought about sending a message asking for tips on what I should focus on for future interviews. This way I can learn more about what went wrong.
I've also thought about asking for a 2nd chance.

Anyone have any insite om Merck hiring process. I had an interview with a job recruiter, than a hiring manager, several interviews and a panel interview. The people I talked to were great. I think I did ok. About a week ago I got a notification for more info on salary and noncompete information. Tomorrow will be a week and workday still says in process. Is it a lost cause at this point?

How long until I get a decision from Wells Fargo Trading Associate second round? First round was two weeks ago, did very well on the technical against three directors. Then I was shortlisted for the in-office interview yesterday with same three directors and two additional managers. I was once interviewed by this Startup company. Everything went well and I passed all 5 rounds on online interviews from manager to VP level technical as well as management and had no issues. Out of blue this team lead reached out who specifically wanted to interview another round. Just after that I got rejection. And when I reached back for reasoning/feedback. They didn’t had anything to add other than they found another guy in local guy for a remote job !!
