Absolutely you can. Show what you’ve done that translates to driving the needs of that position. I was VP at 23 (for a smaller company) and have worked to larger organizations with better pay and responsibility since then and know I still have more to grow. Own your seat at the table. Trust yourself and your processes and then do the work. ;)

Yes 100% go for it. You are overqualified if you're taking a job where you check all the boxes. Learn from your team and empower them to make the department grow while you yourself grow into the role. Confidence is in the eye of the beholder, so yeah fake it. It has always worked for me until I could believe in my expertise.
I was a Marketing Director for an agency at 27 and became a Director of Communications and Marketing for a non-profit educational organization at 33. You got this! Will you be managing a team?
Focus less on your age and experience and more about the different skill set you can bring to the role. Understand what they are looking for and be positive on how you can bring diversity of thought to the team and tackle problems better. Unsure what country you’re from, but having an interview is great - means they’ve positively screened your application and want to find out more.
And if it doesn’t work out - think where you can learn from this experience for next time and it puts you on their radar for progression.

Smaller companies especially have younger folks in positions like this, especially in fields like Marketing that have a more digital or tech focus. You won’t be a fish out of water. I was one of those back in the day, the guy in a meeting with a bunch of folks my parents age. It’s a bit weird but just know your tech stack in and out because no one else there will and you’ll be invaluable.

I was promoted to VP of a marketing agency at 30. Mark Zuckerberg took Facebook public at 27. Get out of your head and slay that interview!!!!
Update: I have a second interview on Thursday! Only thing the interviewer said was the other candidates have more seniority over me. Planning to tell them “Well, I’m young and hungry” type of message if it gets brought up.

You can absolutely do it! I'm 31 and have been a Director of Marketing for over four years. If they selected you for an interview, they already think you could potentially be a fit for the role. Don't self-select yourself out of the process. Go in with confidence!

I'm 33 now, but when I was 24 I was promoted as a sales manager (never again) in a team where the average age was 55. About 12 men and 3 or 4 women. Some of them had "kids" older than me. It really can be difficult, but you gotta show them why it is you who's leading the team, and not them. Not like in a hard way. In a respectful way. Nowadays, as Marketing Coordinator I would say i preffer to lead a 20-30 older person than a young 22yo intern.
