Hey guys! I wanted to share #HoldThePRess which is an initiative, inspired by #PullUpForChange and 600 and Rising, holding the PR industry accountable for recruiting and cultivating Black talent at all levels. The website with more info and to sign on in support is holdthe-press.com and you can sign whether you are Black or an ally. Also, we are planning on presenting the asks and demands to agencies in the coming weeks and will be sharing via the website and on IG: @holdthe_press.

Either way it will affect your relationship- be ok with it or give them a heads up if they’re a confidant. Also, I’m assuming your firm/client doesn’t have a mutual non-compete clause in your services agreement.

Honestly, if you’re pursuing a role with a client/company, the central advantage is that you understand the business, challenges, etc. so there would be very few sticking points except comp (and imagine you’re pursuing it through a client contact too). If you choose not to pursue after flirting with the opp for any reason that’s related to the client company/business/goals, it may make the situation a bit weird.
And yes, there’s sometimes non compete clauses between corp clients and vendors too.
