I’m interviewing for a role that they told me is in the 65-75k role. I know it’s less than what I should be making (and am making currently). However it’s an area I enjoy and want to focus on. Given I know the range and IF I get an offer, do you think I could ask them to consider 85-90k ($10-15k more than the highest range)?

If I were in your shoes and it's similar role vs where you are at, that's a non starter on comp being lower than where you are today. But again my priorities could be different. You can go through the full interview process and try to negotiate it up or apply to a bunch of other places. Depends on how badly you want to leave your current work too

Honestly, no. The range your requesting is $20k higher than their entry point. They told you their range to make it clear where they were looking; you could try “after learning more about the job responsibilities and the experience I offer, I think _________ would be what’s needed for me to accept the position.” But be prepared for them to pull the offer.
I’m beginning phone screens for a position in my department and one of the preliminary questions is regarding salary requirements - I include them in job postings but I also make sure they are agreed to as I have that defined range and can not hire above it.

Hello,

I received a promotion to a new level and a raise 3+ years ago. Shortly thereafter, HR gave a presentation to a group where I was able to see that I was actually outside of the typical pay range for that level which is otherwise pretty broad. Fast forward 2-3 years later and I believe I've earned to be at least within the range (whatever it might be now) based on my performance. Suggestions on approaching HR or your direct manager?

Does anyone know what an appropriate percent of a raise to ask for is? I havent gotten an increase in two years since my probation ended and I'm trying to determine a number to ask, but I dont want to aim too high

Info: cost of living has increased 6.6% in that time, and a posting within my company is over 15% higher than my salary for an entry level position. But I've also heard that 8% is the highest you should ask for, so Im not sure
