Former MBB? Like he was an EM with MBB before and is interviewing you?
Don't think too hard, just do the cases like you've been practicing. If you crush it, you'll likely get hired. MBB has some incredibly intelligent people but the fact that he or she chose to interview you means that you are a quality candidate!

Cool, let me know which one
Was at Deloitte and interviewed with a lot of former MBB (and even for a role at BCG) folks this summer - surprisingly they all treated me really well and my casing experience with them was great. I had a much more difficult time impressing the Deloitte alums (one of em straight up asked me why I was laid off). I’d recommend focusing on knowing as much details about the company and market and practicing cases and not focusing on who’s gonna interview you. Good luck bud!
You're starting from a disadvantaged position (MBB prefer our own, it's an inherent bias based on hiring someone that already speaks the same language) but if you nail the interview it's all good. They selected you because they think you have potential to do that. Also remember many in MBB can go years without doing a true strategy case.
Yes, they wouldn't waste their time interviewing you if you didn't

I should’ve worked on practicing cases🥲. They all asked me one and a brain teaser, apparently there’s more than one (MBB) on the team. I felt like a fish outta water and I actual suck at cases anyways. I just start making stuff up.
