I was offered a role at KPMG Strategy. The people I interviewed w/ were great, but I'm concerned that KPMG Strategy has no brand, which makes it hard to recruit good teams & win client work. Thoughts?

I am overwhelmed by the choices for online tools this year. So far, I am using Kami for annotations, google docs for writing, google slides for student presentations, and google forms for quizzes and short answers. What am I missing? Also, I have been preparing PPTs to teach from and setting up all work in Google Classroom across 11 classes. It is taking a lot of time. Dows anyone have suggestions for cutting the prep down?

Just no showed by a hiring exec who specifically asked to do an intro call on a holiday. Grrrr…..

Company XYZ had me do 4 interviews with 6 different people in July & August. After the last interview, the recruiter tells me the job is now on hold until Jan. I told him I was fine with that. He said I only had 1 more interview with the CEO. Sunday, I get an announcement LinkedIn that XYZ hired Joe Q to this job. I reached out to the recruiter. He said that was another role & there is still one for Jan. He is trying to hire a friend of mine ir another job. More in comments.

Hi all! I’m wondering what your thoughts are on HR texting with employees (especially if you support 100+). To me, texting with employees is problematic because it is so easy to misconstrue a text, there’s no set start/end to a “conversation”, and it disrupts boundaries. I’m in a hotel with 545 (I should add we have a often volatile Union environment so ee’s “hang on” to words and are always looking for managers to make mistakes). So my supervisor over preschool was making site ‘visits’ last week. So the director was in my classroom not wearing a mask and was not practicing social distancing. What can I do(The director is not a person you can reason with. Talks down to the teachers)? Any advice?
Clarification: The reason for the site visit is that the ECE department is up for review this year and all admin are snapping at us for every little thing. Anything else then perfection is not acceptable.

So I have my bachelors in early childhood education (non licensure) and I just got my masters in special education with a certificate in autism. I am not licensed but wondering what will a good step other then a special education assistant. I was thinking to work in the college district to be a student support service worker. Unless there are others that I haven't looked at and be able to support myself financially.

In May, I learned that I would not be getting renewed due to COVID. I spent all summer worried about the future and what would happen if my diabetic husband got sick. I ended up getting a job out of state with a district and a governor that takes things seriously while my old zip code is a major NYC Covid Hotspot that the governor put under major restriction. I’m so glad I am where I am now.

How do you feel about tik tok being banned? Do you think our students will be greatly affected? I personally never used it and I think our students will just find something else. No biggie.

I've taught in public school for 6 years and only wonder if the grass is greener on the other side. The private school side.

Suggestions needed: I have a student who loves to fold paper airplanes, you name it... He tries to do it all day long. He is a BD/LD student who usually refuses to do any work. Offering him time to fold the paper as an incentive does NOT work - he folds it regardless of whether he should or not. Can anyone think of a way I can use this skill/desire instructionally and to my advantage? (I have already given him instructions on using geometry to improve his airplanes.)

Why are students super proficient with technology when it comes to doing things totally unrelated to school (for instance, making a bunch of Tik Toks) but when I ask them to do something easy like open a Google Doc, all of a sudden they’re incapable and I get a million emails telling me that I should excuse them from the assignment since they simply cannot access it??

Just curious. Did CDC change its social distancing guideline from 6 feet to 3 feet in order to make it easier for schools to reopen?
