Cultural revolution is always a challenge. I think inclusivity isn't grounded in changes in how we phrase /classify/label for the most part. But I speak for myself not for those impacted the most by it.

I’m Latina and I feel like men are the only ones who complain about this. I don’t care but it should be a good exercise for you to understand gender erasure from our community.
Again, I don’t care. It’s a the hill I’m willing to die on while our numbers in this industry are abysmal.
SC1 what in the world are you even going on about lol
I am Latino too and I cringe every time someone says Latinx. Can we just say Latin and leave it alone?
Good. Decolonize Spanish. Don’t let woke non-Hispanics change your language to suit their agenda.

Agreed. However, while everyone here is bickering about an X the vast majority of people here do very little for any cause in this industry.
Is it pronounced “La-tinx” or “Le-tinx”?
Isn’t using “La” gendered and defeats the whole purpose?
I am French. I find the La-tino part to be gendered in a way that does not fit my world view. In French it would be feminine.
I know plenty of Hispanic colleagues at work. I’ve never once found myself needing to refer to them by their ethnicity. Never had to say that “Hispanic guy” and certainly never used “Latino”. What gives with this issue? Is something wrong with just saying Hispanic? Why the need to constantly refer to ethnicities?
“Latino” is not an ethnicity.
Same here. Classic gring-X move
So many of us latinos look "white." You never know when youre talking to one of us, and thats good.

Why is that good?
Why not just "Latin"?
Because conjugation
Thank you! I wasn’t sure if Latin X was the norm. Most people I know prefer to say “Cuban American” or Mexican American etc.
Don’t try to be rational
