I’m looking for a new job in a different practice area that aligns with my personal passions and I would love to create a post on LinkedIn broadcasting that to my network. However, I’m still employed and connected to several current co-workers and I’m not ready for them to know. How have you gone about looking for new jobs without alerting your current team?

I do not post anything publicly. I just message and meet with everyone I know at firms or practice areas I’m interested in.

My cleaning lady now drives to our apartment and finds street parking. She got a ticket last week for not seeing the signs. I suggested to her if the signs weren’t clear she could contest it. I’m struggling here - should I pay for the ticket? On one level, she has worked with us for a long time, but I also don’t think it’s necessarily my responsibility. I give her a nice bonus and raise each year. Do I pay it once as a good will gesture? She has other clients too that she drives too.

Can anybody guide on:
1. Is it a good decision to make a drastic switch at this age and experience?
2. If yes, what are sources I should follow, where do I start?

This is not law-related and I’m sorry but could use advice! I am 27 and have been single since I was 22 which makes me feel weird, especially because my longest relationship didn’t last a year. I was thinking about getting on dating apps but in addition to feeling chubby and unattractive, I have this weird dating void. I’m pretty content alone (may just be because I’m used to it). I don’t want to write off dating, but am terrified! Is my situation super weird? Any advice? 😭

For the married and/engaged ladies, did you have any pre-wedding jitters? I recently got engaged (yay!) and I have felt for a very long time that my partner truly is my soulmate. I feel guilty having these feelings when I couldn’t be more certain about the decision to marry him. Can anyone else relate?

I joined a new firm October 1 & billed a 200 hour month. With my current workload, I am expecting to meet or exceed my prorated hours target. When I accepted the position, future bonuses were discussed, but given ramp up, etc. I didn’t think to ask about a prorated bonus for my stump year. Has anyone dealt with this before? I hate to ask & sound greedy, but I relocated (at a pay cut) for this position & a bonus would really help going to my mortgage payments I’m still carrying for my old condo.

I was fired last month after a short time at the company. I knew things weren't going well- it was a terrible culture fit & I was also planning my exit strategy. They wouldn't give me specific reasons other than to vaguely say it was performance related. I agree I made a few dumb mistakes (none of any dire consequence) but what kills me is that I tried really hard. I don't want to change careers but I have a deep seeded fear that no matter how hard I try, I will never be a "good attorney".

I just went back and reviewed the document and I frankly don’t see where she got any of these comments. I missed a single pincite in a string cite. I don’t have this issue with any other (cont

Since the invitation though I’ve been looking to exit my current position. Would it be inappropriate to have my last week of work be the week of the conference? Question for moms. I’m getting married next year and have several close family members that will have babies ages 8-11 months old by then. What are some ways I can support the moms and make it an enjoyable experience for them? We have a separate room at the venue that I was thinking could be offered to the parents to use, or potentially hiring a babysitter for them (either at the venue or back at the hotel). I would love for the families to be able to come, as it is out of town.
