Hi Amazonians. Can you share the work culture in Retail tech team or in Amazon in general. I've received an SDE1 offer. I have other offers from Microsoft and Goldman Sachs as well. I am really confused between Amazon and Microsoft. All the people I've talked to have said to take the Microsoft offer. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

I’ve been pushing my practice group leader to implement Dashboard Legal. I’ve heard good things about it. We need to stop running deals out of our Outlook like this is 2002. But most partners are apprehensive to adopt new technology into their practice. I actually work for one partner that asks me to print out checklists, hand mark them with status updates, and simultaneously update the live checklist in real time as well. Every week I’m supposed to print out the new checklist after a status call. It’s a massive waste of time and I stopped doing it.
It’s the running deals out of Outlook for me! We also have printed checklists and it gets messy very quickly. Even if I have to use what the partner is asking for, I need something to keep me on track.
One note is extremely convenient for transactional practices because you can drag and drop emails, link folders, and organize by deal with ease. Started using this year and it's made my life much more efficient
I use Monday.com for all real estate. Works well for me.
Regional firm in Atlantic Canada. 30 lawyers at our office. But I use this independently with my assistant and paralegal in my group.
All ears
I digitized my notes on Evernote but our firm blocks it, so I only update on the phone or when working from home.
Would welcome a better solution
I use an excel spreadsheet, but I’m still trying to figure it out.
Lots of tips in the corporate transactional bowl
Personally, I use smartsheet to track dates and deal phase (closings, CWD, extensions, additional deposits, etc) and then onenote with many subheadings and tabs (great bc it is searchable and can make quick lists and tables)
