Cerebral heard Terrible things. Better help put me through an onboarding with a life coach and then proceeeded to tell me there are no therapists in my area so essentially wasted my time. Idk about the others.
are you opposed to searching for a therapist outside of these? i fully acknowledge that it’s a daunting task as i’ve had to do it myself, but i found a therapist who i see every week via video appointment and all i pay is my regular copay. it’s a 45 min session, and he’s amazing.
if you haven’t already, you should check to see what your copay would be, and if it’s reasonable, that should be incentive to search outside of those platforms. i work in health tech so i’m a big supporter of what some of these companies are doing, but sometimes it could be easier (and better quality) to go the traditional route.
oh got it, yes i completely understand! that’s when these platforms really make sense. it’s daunting, but don’t give up, even if you have to “date” a few therapists. it’ll be so worth it when you find the right one. 🙏🏼
Been using BetterHelp and it’s been great so far! Normally do 45 mins to a little less than an hour. She tells me to schedule at the end of the day so we have more time to chat

I’ve been using Betterhelp for over a year now. It took 3 tries to find someone I click with. We meet for an hour on a weeknight and I’m usually her last patient in the evening. It’s not covered by insurance, but I qualified for a rate of $68 per week. She’s moved to private practice, so we’re looking to move me to her practice as a telehealth patient, since it’s covered by insurance. She lives further away from me, so I wouldn’t have found her without Betterhelp.

I think it depends on the therapist. She made it work for me. She said we’d start with an hour and then we could scale it back, but we haven’t scaled it back yet.
Yes. I recommend find an online therapist. Use better help or talk space. Have a few sessions then dm them if you can pay cash. Most have private practices on the side.
In person is better. Search for providers via your insurance site. You’ll be done fast, and they’ll accept Telehealth too.
You're looking in the wrong place. None of them accept insurance, as far as I know. Go to PsychologyToday.com to find a therapist. Many therapists advertise there. You can read their profiles and also see what insurance health plans they accept. If you don't see your insurance, then message them. Some therapists also offer a sliding fee scale.
