I’m looking for some examples of an employee recognition program. Does anyone have something they are willing to share? We are starting from scratch.

We do a Thank you Wall and it allows people to thank others for going above and beyond. At the end of the month we put all the names in a jar and someone draws a name randomly. The name pulled is the winner for the month and they get a gift card.

Physical or virtual wall? If virtual, what platform/tool?

My old company (Fortune 50 retail company) did awards that you can give to colleagues after great work on a project or general recognition. If you got 4 or so, you would to a 'bronze level' get $25 on your next paycheck, the next level you would get to a 'solver level' and get $50, the next level, gold and you would get $100, there were some levels where you would get physical gifts (a watch, etc) Its great because it could come from peers as well as managers, or even from executives at the company

What type of industry?

Leader board for all to see. Simple prizes such as subway lunch cards, candy, etc announced once a month in front of all. We used to do movie tickets but those are closed. I’ve also went and had a sign made for an employee of the month parking spot which was a huge hit if you can get leadership backing. Lunch with management for top employee(s) of the year. Just some thoughts.

Currently interviewing for a designer role at Tesla - wanted some advice. The hiring manager has seemed uninterested and always dropped off interviews early and without answering any of my questions. He also mentioned that he's lost 4 designers from the team recently (red flag!). I think it'd be a cool role, but it sounds like I'd be the only designer and there's not a ton of support, BUT if I do well - lots of room for growth and promotion. Plus internal transfers after a year also an option?

So I’m leaving for school out-of-state in two weeks. Today I was invited to a friend’s vacation home with a small group next weekend. Should I go? I’m conflicted because my school recommends I quarantine for two weeks before coming to campus.

Turning down a highly lucrative Amazon offer for an offer with a small sign on bonus and a 20% pay bump but it will offer WLB and I can work remotely forever and it’s work I’m more interested in. First time I am not making prestige the number one priority. Feels scary. Idk why I have so much anxiety around turning down the offer.

Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired

I am not not having the best time. I do not feel interested on my job and find hard to wake up in the morning and do it...or do anything else. It has been a rough year with the pandemic and all. Sometimes I think home office is affecting me too much or May be I am lazy. Or is this depression? Should I see a professional?
