I dont work in recruiting but I have a friend who works within the debt space for recruiting as he is interested in finance and enjoys it. Has built up a nice book of clients by looking outside his domestic market and building rapport there. Not sure if this is a grey space but he leverages info and news from other banks such as new deals, teams creations, hires, strategies etc to entice other firms to hire those with expertise to do the same at their own companies.

The sentiment i get of commission based roles such as sales, recruiting, expert networks, is that it is a bit of a grind to always hit targets and leaves your quarterly bonus up to more variables than a typical job where majority income is base pay. Many cold calls before you close something but can be good money for sure
