Consulting

I’m looking to make an exit into the start up world. I live in a big tech hub and I figured this is as best time as ever. If I do and don’t like it, how hard is it to come back to consulting?

I haven't boomeranged myself but I've heard it's not very hard at all. Many firms leave open doors as long as you leave in good standing.

Leave in good standing and you should be fine

Exit opportunities from big 4 consulting in Canada . Reached the 2 year mark as a senior consultant for KPMG Canada. I do mostly Strategy consulting work. Severely underpaid (less than 65k). I hold a JD/MBA and have 5 years of government experience prior to joining consulting. Any suggestions on exit opportunities?

Exit options/Capital Markets: Are in-house exit options for CM attorney meaningfully better at firms that do more issuer side work? Considering leaving my v10 underwriter side heavy firm to go to a place that does more issuer side, probably somewhere like Wilson Sonsini or Fenwick. Thoughts on whether this would improve exit options?

Anyone here work in consulting, not advisory, in Portland, Oregon? When I accepted my position out of school they sold it to me as consulting, however, after 5 years, a better description would have been advisory. Just curious what "real" consulting firms operate out of Portland.

Team Financial Planning Specialist or no? My team is growing more and more to specializations with investment products. (Insurance, alts, ESG) I’ve been wondering if the Financial Planning role could also be a specialist in our client experience. We have two competing ideas; A financial planning specialist would be able to develop intimate familiarity with the planning software, processes, and human nuances. But would a newclient feel 'bait&switched’ to be handed off for this important process?

Is it a lateral move from Deloitte Consultant to PWC Senior Associate? For context, I was up for promo last year but it was rescinded due to covid. SC promotion is “all but guaranteed” this cycle 🙄. I know PWC has an extra level with the new SM role so not sure if I’d be lateraling to SA3 from C at D? It’s a 40% base comp increase but just curious what the outside perception is... currently 3YOE, top right scatterplot. I’m thinking I could make M in a year or so but is that like SC at D??

Small firm owners need pov! Some good news after almost 11 months of applying and interviews and lots of rejections finally got an offer! In NYC small firm, ex big law folks, no billable hours, niche practice area, appearance of forwarded thinking firm, remote till who knows when, emphasis on pro bono initiatives and building book of business. The catch salary. Was making around 140k at last firm with 1800 billable. Offer is 85k and revist to bump to around 100k in several months after review
