I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Hello! Is anyone working at Spotify or HubSpot within product/project management that would be willing to connect for a virtual coffee chat?
I’m a recent grad and currently working in tech/product development. I have been interested in growing my career at either of these companies and would be grateful to gain insight on day-to-day and steps you took to successfully break in.
I know this might be a big ask here, but it’s been difficult trying to land one on LinkedIn. Thanks in advance

I'm in the middle of this right now. Do you have any tech strategy or PM experience? How many YOE? Analytics and OR background is good for PM and will help on interviews, but only if you have <5 YOE. Real world > academics, especially for PMs. Tons of Silicon Valley startups are opening up remote PM roles. If you want to stick in enterprise, most market-leading corporations have established or are establishing solid PM organizations (eg FAANG, Salesforce, Adobe, Capital One, etc etc etc). Go to Product School events (ProductCon) and network/ping people on Linkedin. Toptal has a Product Management vertical, and some clients are looking for contract-to-hire PMs. Let me know if you have any other questions, I've been planning and making this move for the past year or so.
Thank you - this is super helpful.
I have some tech strategy exp and yes my academic background is in analytics & OR. I have around 1.5 YOE in total. I am an international student so some contract-to-hire positions are out of scope. I shall look up the product school events. Do you have any leads or different methods of getting in touch with these startups or enterprise roles?
I have heard from a few people (while networking) that I have less exp to transition into the industry from consulting. Happy to chat with you further in DM if you're fine with it.
Thank you once again!
