When requesting a raise, has an employer ever asked you for the cost of living? As an example- asking you to list out a future mortgage payment if you purchase a home, the cost of health insurance for your family, etc. Seems intrusive and weird. Raises should based on value, not what a mortgage costs…. but maybe it’s common.

Is an HR Manager role a higher level or lower level than an HRBP in your opinion?

I have been offered Lead Software Developer G140 in IQVIA. How many years of experience needed for that role? How were the hikes in IQVIA for BI Tool projects last year/ this year? were there any firing in Pandemic?
And how is the flexibility in terms of changing technology/project. Current project work does not seem to be much challenging so can I ask for project change within a few months of joining if I find the work mundane?

I manage const for eng companies. Got short video interview, then a job offer @ low end my req. range. Experience: it’s normal to travel for a 2nd interview in person. Result: I see quitting to do this as risky. I asked for more $ than my prior range & explained I prefer we meet in person to see if it’s a fit 1st. Hiring manager wants me and may push for the $ but not the in person meet. Wonder if it could cause me to start there with less trust if they think I abused my position for more $.

Haven’t heard back from McK since I submitted my resume through a referral 1.5months ago (experienced hire). The person who referred me says it’s still “under review”. Is there any way I can follow up with my application, or should I just take this as a rejection?

I work for a toxic company that doesn't seem to want to promote anyone on the legacy product or women in general. I haven't gotten a title change in years but I do the work of a Sr. Manager. None of us on legacy are allowed to start work on the new system which means everyone gets promoted around us.
