I’m looking to switch to advisory from audit. Can anyone give me some insight on CMAAS and how it compares to FAAS/ARA?

Similar to faas but no specific breakout for technical accounting like the taag group (ie you have more freedom to build your brand). We’re the most established of all the accounting advisory practices but the trade off is we’re probably the busiest.

ARA is 🗑, you want the controllership group at Deloitte

PwC 3, can you confirm when you say 50 hours. Do you mean billable or at work? One is 9-7pm vs 9-9pm

like

ARA is fairly new but lots of opportunities to grow. It’s a combo of technical accounting, SOX/IT Readiness/IA work, IPO readiness, SPAC, etc. We also average 40-45 hrs and don’t have a busy season. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions or need help with a referral. Doesn’t hurt to meet people in our practice and learn more on our practice.

DM me for CMAAS. I've helped others on here before to move into CMAAS. Happy to help!

The pay definitely makes it tempting

CFGI is hiring all positions (remote) for accounting advisory. I can submit your resume if you or anyone else interested.

I worked in Deloitte as an Auditor for 4 years and i had a desire to transfer out from Audit to M&A/ Deals team but then I heard about Siegfried and heard that they have way better pay amd hours. In our field, there is no such thing work-life balance or more pay less hour no matter what anyone says. So basically, Siegfried is a service provider to these big names. Currently, I am working with the pwc CMAAS team and getting OT above 45. Once my project finishes, I will try to go to do another big 4 busy season audits to make more money and after I will try industry. This way, I can choose different projects and different fields to see what I like the most and don't get stuck. Again, just to give you some idea, my starting pay was $95k plus 20k guaranteed bonus every year for first 3 years plus OT. Let me know if you like to connect to get more info. Happy to help!! :)

95 after 4 years? What level

How frequently is a PE investor realizing a full fund return? I get that it’s hard with timing. But let’s say it’s a $750m fund. Returns 3x MOIC. $2,250M. 20% is $450M. You’re an MD with 2% of the carry pool earning $9M. How often is that $9M paying out? Would depend on a typical rate of capital deployment and fundraising.. let’s say you raise a fund every other year. Average investment is 3-4 years. If you invested the whole fund in 1-2 years. And do this with over 10 years, that’s $45M?

Has your firm gone woke? My leadership is consumed by virtue signaling and social justice to the point where nothing else (even our business) seems to matter. More importantly, they seem oblivious to the fact that not everyone shares their woke sensibilities and they’ve said some highly divisive and offensive things. There is no vehicle for dissent. Thinking of leaving a firm I’ve dedicated my life to as a result. It’s a sad realization.

Asking for advice- I’ve realized consulting is not the path for me long term and have had plans to quit. I’m currently staffed on a project alone and feel lost as I don’t have much experience in this line of work. Deadline is approaching and I have voiced my concerns to finish in time. Manager is still reviewing my work and the turnaround time to make revisions and finish phase 2 work seems unlikely within a few days. Is it unreasonable to ask for another resource to help finish?

Just got through my first interview with EY for an experienced associate position in FDD. Throughout the interview process, they mentioned nothing about a case study. But now I need to take one this Friday. I’m not saying I care, I’m just not experienced with case studies in interviews. I never had one for audit, I never had one for consulting positions, but I need one for FDD. I’m not at ALL prepared for this case nor will my performance be a reflection of my potential. No idea what to do.

I am currently working for a small, boutique firm. Would it make sense to jump to Protiviti (Business Performance Improvement team)?

Not actively looking and, so far, I've enjoyed my experience with my current firm. My only concern is that, if I ever wanted to leave, it seems like the exit opportunities are non existent (or, frankly, they suck). Are there good exit opportunities with Protiviti?

Would I have a better shot at working in Big 4 advisory if I worked at Protiviti?
