I don't have motivation to start.
How did you get it?
C1 hope you’re ok bud.
My motivation is not breaking my streak. It was hard at first but I am over 215 days straight at this point. And I make sure I do it before I start work. There have been a few days where motivation was lacking the streak kept me going. It started to get to that point once I got to a few weeks, though. Set attainable goals too. Rather than 60 minutes, i am for 25-30 minutes. I can fit it in then.
The biggest result is lack of any back or hip pain I used to get from sitting a lot (still would workout 3-4 times per week on avg but would go longer without if I was busy or made excuses). Using my core everyday. I also have more energy to start the day. Pretty tone from mostly doing HIIT sessions and BeachBody on demand videos. I also have some adjustable Bowflex dumbbells and TRX straps that I use 1-2x per week. Honestly though, the kitchen is a bigger factor in the weight area. But exercising makes me feel better.
Find what works for you. Also an amazing diet can be more helpful than trying to outwork a trash one. I’m thinking walking may be my thing
I snack so much 😢😭

I use strava for running. Keeps me constantly motivated by showing people working out in my friend circles. Segments keep me motivated to beat others working out near me for pace etc
My motivation comes from aesthetics first and health benefits second. As a guy who hasn’t dated (self confidence issues with my body for no reason), I think having my visible muscles more pleasing to the eye is going to make me more attractive overall. To that point, find a body part of yours that you think could use work and focus on it. My forearms are super skinny so I pretty much work them out everyday.
(Sorry if it sounds very toxic, it keeps me working out regularly at least)
I say to myself that if I don’t workout, I need to be strict about my diet. I also do a 30 min workout versus an hour. Just put your clothes on without thinking and start. Even if you only do thirty, it’s something and enough to get your muscles warm and working. I’m on the exact same boat!
Check your weight regularly, specially towards first few days- you can notice significant changes if you start running etc. I
1. Look at the mirror.
2. Rub your belly
3. Tell yourself those fats are there to kill you.
4. Hit the gym/crossfit.
5. Watch out for diet.
1 week you will see improvement that'll keep you going. I started at 187 pounds this Monday. I've lost 3 pounds this week.
I know this might sound like a scam so I've attached my personal track. Not a big weight loss but I'm proud of what I've done. You can too. 1 week of 3lb, for a month you'll be able to loose at least 6 to 9 with1 or 2 reasonable cheat meal.
Think of staying healthy. Probably start tracking your intake that will help you a lot.
Switch up the routine a bit. You might be getting stagnant or bored.
If you don’t want to run then cycle or skip or swim or shadow box.
If your lifting routine is getting boring try another program or split.
I hear you. I go to the gym M-Th but now that I’m not actually going to the office, I can’t “stop at the gym” on my way home. When our gyms opened up in late May, my 20 yo daughter was immediately motivated, so she’s been my motivation. I find that if she’s working nights, I don’t go. And she’s moving back to college next week so I’m nervous I will start to blow it off.
Read “Starting Strength”. Also Goggin’s book. You’ll be motivated for the rest of time.
hip drahhhhveeee
Go to a local park where people go jogging etc ..

You’ll soon realize it’s not about motivation. It’s about discipline. One is fleeting, the other can be permanent.
I hate exercising so much, that I prefer just to cut calories instead.
Start with walking or find something active you like doing. Remember the first 2 minutes is the hardest and it gets easier. Just do a bit at a time. Try some other types of exercise like yoga apps, peloton, skipping. Just commit to short stints (~20 minutes) and build off of that. Exercise - in addition to health benefits also sharpens the mind and helps with mental performance if you do it first thing in the morning.
Having an accountability buddy helps - if you can find a friend that is also trying to go to exercise more, have them FT you to check in every day. It’ll get easier once you build a habit of it and find something you enjoy. For me it’s HIIT - creating my own circuits, lifting, or boxing with my SO.
Ever heard of a saying “Mirror and Weighing scales don’t lie”. They both can keep you motivated enough.
