I think you just need to stay positive that you will get out. I am generally positive but I cried every Sunday night for 6 months straight at my last job. My friends told me they were concerned for my well being. I knew I had to make the right move so it took a bit but I was a new person when I left.

Update y’all: Got an offer from one of these agencies, great CD’s and culture. Waiting to interview at the other two this week. Feels good.

Thanks for the kind words and getting me through a rough couple of days.

Pretty sure the cause of my feeling so shitty is the soul-sucking telecom client I’ve been on for the last year but I’ve felt like shit all this time and I wonder f maybe the problem’s with me

Same exact feels, but as soon as I walked into the door for my interviews the nerves and tinge of hope took over.

Ever consider connecting with a career coach? They are good at reminding you of all your strengths and talents. Helpful when you are trying to shake the blues of your current situation. Positive vibes your way, OP

If you can, take a little time off between jobs. I just took a month off between jobs and spent a ton of time with friends and family, doing healthy things, writing, cooking etc and I came into my new job having shed all of the bullshit

@SD1 That’s a really good call, will definitely try to do that.

@Director that sounds awful 💔 glad you got out.

@OP don’t shit on your current gig while you’re interviewing with prospective new companies. Focus solely on the positives and why you want to work at the next company. Maybe write out a list of good things that have come out of it so that you’re prepared to answer why you want to leave (if they ask). Good luck!! You deserve the best, go get it!

A new job brings a new environment, people, projects, daily routines, etc. Think back about your first couple of weeks at your current place and remember all the jitters and learning curve stuff that’s now all hat to you now. Changing companies will likely have a bigger affect on you than you’re thinking and will effectively “reset” your bad attitude.

Doesn’t mean you won’t fall into the trappings of your current BS eventually once you get comfortable again, or that similar problems at a new place won’t be there

@MM1 I’d never even thought of a career coach. It makes a lot of sense though, have you worked with one you’d recommend?
