Do you like reading? Nothing can transport you away from your thoughts like a good book. I also highly recommend staying active physically by for example taking classes at the gym. Personally I love ClassPass. Also has the benefit of giving you some human interaction. Sometimes I feel like just being around other people helps, even if I don’t interact much with them. Maybe also try out bumble BFF?

If you’re moving to Europe, I’d go hard on learning an extra language. That can def take your mind off things, helps you meet people (online forums at the very least before you get somewhere where you can use it), and it’ll help you make more connections when you get there. There are apps, YouTube courses, you can totally DIY a new language. Regardless of whether you’re going to somewhere where English is primary/plentiful, Europe is small. You’ll be able to do a weekend somewhere new, and an extra language never ever hurts.

Good call. Lexody is a platform that matches you with fluent speakers of any language, who also want to learn your first language.
You meet in person for an hour somewhere public like a cafe or bar. You speak for 30 minutes in each language.

You need to be around actual people, it’s so important for your mental health. Where in the world are you? Is there no option to work from the office a couple of days so you have a few people around?
Do you know anyone in the city you’re moving to? You can try to get a head start now on meeting people - friends and romantic interests. Search online for expat communities. They might have a Facebook group or meetup group. Maybe your alma mater has a group there. Try bumble bff. I think Okcupid might have a looking for friends thing too. I know Facebook has very large groups for women who travel, and similarly named groups. Put a post there and I’m sure you’ll find women in that city. I’m also not sensing much enthusiasm for this new adventure you’re about to start. Research things you want to see and do there, museums, theater, holiday events, restaurants, bars, cute neighborhoods to explore, outdoor markets, cheap flights for weekend getaways. A few years ago I had to opportunity to work in Europe for a few months. It really got me out of the funk I was in but I put in the necessary effort. I didn’t sit home a single evening, I didn’t waste a single weekend, rain or shine. I actively researched and planned things to do. Also have you started packing and purging? A couple of years ago I moved to a different state and I got so much pleasure from purging stuff. Good luck!
Are you in New York? I’ve done this twice. Happy to talk about it in person.
This is very random, but I’ve been loving this app https://w1d1.com/ that gives daily creative tasks for you to accomplish related to art and art history. So well done and they have a super nice community. Maybe you’ll get into it ✨
Looks like the bumble BFF app might be a great way to meet new friends once you get to Europe, too. Thanks to the people who recommended it, as I plan to check it out myself:)
I know that living alone and not going into the office anymore only exacerbates the problem... I usually thoroughly enjoy alone time and my solutide to recharge but there's nothing to recharge from since I'm always by myself.
I do as much "self care" as my sanity can allow. I just need ideas on how to keep myself busy so I don't notice how lonely I am. I really don't think humans are built to be in pure isolation for weeks/months on end...
Also worth noting that only a handful of people know because I don't plan on telling my company until the standard two weeks, which is at the end of December

Do you have a job lined up?
Do you have a hobby like writing, drawing/painting/photography that kind of thing? Mine is music. It’s not always easy to get into a zone but when you, the time passes fast and it’s a really nice feeling to get out of your head and try to create something. Otherwise you could take classes in these things. Not necessarily to make friends but to just to learn something new and take you elsewhere.
