Current h1b stamp expires Jan 6th 2020 and have an approved petition for the next 3 yrs. Have limited time to get my stamping in December. Can I still reenter without new stamp before the 6th?
Asking for a friend - are any firms open to sponsoring H1B for foreign lawyers looking to move into legal services/management consulting on the state-side?
Where can I find a description of the benefits offered by the legal plan? Do we have to use their attorneys? How much of the cost of a will do they cover?
How flexible is Deloitte with the start date because of H1b processing time? I signed the offer mid-may for July 12 because it seemed realistic enough for premium H1b transfer. But the lawyers seem slower than what I was used to and July 12 does not seem likely. Is this going to be a problem?
If my firm allows both traditional and Roth 401K, which one should I invest in? 27 years old, $90k salary.
Does anyone have experience with Lemonade homeowners insurance? Annual savings for me is ~$1600. Thanks FB!
TLDR: First time H1B RFE =purely a wait game? got RFE last Monday, wrote to lawyer last and this Monday but haven’t heard back. Should I just sit and wait? How long does it typically take for people to hear back RFE results? I have friends who waited for 4+ months last year but also saw cases of a few weeks in this bowl. Confused and lost.
Guys, just got the notification my I-140 has been approved. How much longer to expect the AOS application and receiving the GC? Applied on L1-A visa.
Will this new wage level rule apply to H1B extensions too? As in, will an extension petition be approved vs. rejected based on wage being paid?
Hi guys, I am in a process of receiving an offer from my current employer’s US Branch. However, the job is gonna be in a different department (M&A) than the one I worked for here (Audit). Would that be an issue with respect to the L1 visa process? Thanks for the advise.
What's the reason a recruiter would want to know my current benefits package (401k match & Salary)? I moderately understand why they try to gauge salary but 401k seems odd. Were they trying to wow me or is there some other reasoning?
Any other accounts out there think the 1.9T stimulus is being spent on the wrong things?
I committed to being here for 3 years to get that pension $. But it’s been 6 weeks and I already hate it. Someone please tell me it gets better.
Any recent H1B transfers to EY? I want to know the timeline, overall experience and outcomes.
Thinking about transferring from EY US to EY London. I'm a staff 1 and unfortunately didn't win the visa lottery. Any thoughts of how hard it is to transfer?
401k? Easy to take money out?
Any type-1 diabetics (in Big4) over here? How do you guys manage your health with so much work stress/hours?
My work was very understaffed prior to COVID. I hope the healthcare industry learns from this experience and increases staffing appropriately.
Want to leave the Big 4 because I am not particularly enjoying the service line I am in. Have been offered another role at a smaller global consultancy, but less prestige than the B4. Seems like I will get varied experience there but scared to leave the security and comfort the B4 offer. Any advice fish?!
Just got approached by Bytedance - anyone know what is expected compensation for Monetization Strategy role?
B4 tax people, what do your hours look like in the summer? What about busy season? I’m regional and put in about 2,500 total and 1,850 charge.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Hoping you all get a much-needed break today and do something for yourself ❤️
Relocating to Columbus, OH area. Would prefer to transition to Independent. Have over 5 yrs as lead advisor experience and cfp. Could probably transition 4-5m and help with existing book.
Promotion effective two weeks from now on 7/1, too early to change your job title on LinkedIn?
Hello. What's the best agency so far to go to when it comes to diversity and actual inclusion for a POC creative? Im pretty done with POC creatives being put on banner projects and the white teams getting the bigger stuff.
Hi! Has anyone completed the diversity and inclusion certificate online through Cornell university? Thoughts? Worth it? Helpful in your career? Thanks!!
Seems to me that people in the 90s were much more entrepreneurial than people today? The thought of leaving a comfortable salaried position to try and start a new venture is daunting.
Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. I know opportunities are far and few between right now, but looking for either energy or supply chain consulting role. Open to travel once resumed. If anyone is aware of a need, I'd appreciate the help!
Taking 2 weeks of PTO in September to study for FAR. Already failed once. What are good tips to maximize this time if I plan to sit by dec 10 when the window closes for the year?
Ok…I’m curious. I pretty much have to beg, barter and steal to get supplies for my classroom. Do teachers in states with legal cannabis have this problem? It’s my understanding that sales tax from its purchase goes to schools, or is that all smoke and mirrors…No pun intended. 😉
Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent. For example, company says, “Parents, please share pictures of working from home with your kids during Covid” for a diversity and inclusion project. Undoubtedly someone responds, “what about my plant babies? 🤣”. I don’t want sympathy but I find it childish. Just give us the courtesy of understanding that plants and pets are not the same. Stop “me too’ing”
Has anyone ever exited Technology/Digital type consulting roles into something more business / commercially oriented? If so, how did you go about it and what sort of roles were open to you? I fell into Tech and it has never really been of huge interest to me. My background is 10 years experience at IBM > EY-Parthenon > AlixPartners with an MBA in between.
How’s Havas Chicago culture for creatives these days? Haven’t heard much since the “Employee Wall of Fame” stuff in 2018.
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
Consulting career is ruining my marriage and relationships with kids. I'm obsessed with promotion and don't feel close to my family anymore. I need help
