Hi fishes! Need help deciding career path. Currently have bachelors and work in business consulting. Thinking about getting in to cloud space by getting numerous cloud certifications OR shoot for an MBA from M7. What would you do for a sustainable career? Thank for the input!
What salary can you expect for fed consulting coming out of an MBA program like Georgetown? I know commercial is ~145k base but have no data points on fed salaries.
What do federal practices pay at Deloitte and Booz A for someone out of grad school (MPA from top school, not MBA)?
If you get a full time offer from the firm where you interned during your summer after your first year of MBA, will the offer pay for your second year of tuition?

Thoughts on the CPHIMS certification? Valuable or just another cert cash grab from HIMSS?
Folks who’ve done their MS here (not MBA) - With 2-3 yrs of experience do you think a 1 page CV works or does one elaborate into 2 pages atleast. Also looking for perspective from folks who handle tech recruiting.
Have any other Fishbowlers gotten their MBA abroad? Wondering what others' experiences have been. I'm considering applying to IE in Madrid and Imperial College in London.
Wharton EMBA worth it? Late career starter so limited white collar experience but interesting background/past life. Also have kids to support so can’t do a full time program. Want the MBA for career boost ($), as an entry to faang/MBB and to have more security for future opportunities. Worth it? Does the EMBA have the same faang/MBB recruitment access and weight as full time?
Is it worth it to get a Masters? And if so, HOW worth it? I have gone back and forth about it for a long time and have had very differing opinions from mentors on if it is worth it. Would be pursuing an MBA or a MS in Analytics - I did get my Bachelors in business, so I just don’t know how much it would help...
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Genuine Q... How on earth do people get away with paying for executive MBAs? Or full time MBAs for that matter? V frustrated by the numbers and worried about ROI etc
I’ve been offered the opportunity to interview at 2 of 3 MBB in the near future. I applied earlier this year and I was initially rejected. I’m an older experienced candidate without a SO or kids. I have a MBA. I am at a good place right now in my career with my current employer. I would be coming in at a lower level but I’m not worried about that. Pay is the same. I will be working more hours at MBB. My resume is already solid but I’m sure MBB would help.McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
Officially 9.5 months into a strategy role post-MBA. Not planning to stay more than 2.5 years max, and would leave tomorrow for a great role without hesitation. Do I start applying now (and use my ...
Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!
Gonna be in Atlanta June-August for my MBA internship. I am checking hellolanding for short term furnished rentals, but wanted to check on here too. Looking to live in Midtown exclusively.
EY 🐠: wdyt is the appropriate salary range for SC1, Tier 1 city, Masters, 2YOE (I know, im surprised about the offer too with < 4yrs).
@German 🐠🐟 I’m not a local but am potentially joining a startup in Berlin (have an offer but need to negotiate comp). Does anyone have a sense of what a reasonable salary range would be for someone with 3 YOE at McK (leaving at associate level) joining a Series A startup as a strategy manager. Would €60-90k be reasonable?
Anyone know where the Microsoft Azure product teams work out of? Do they have a remote workforce?
Didn’t successfully move on in a S&O mgr role. Thought overall the interview went well. What are the best tips for prepping and landing that type of role?

Final round of interviews with Facebook in a few days (marketing role). Any of you with interview experience with them? Any advice?
Anyone from KPMG willing to refer me for a advisory summer intern under digital lighthouse? Worked at deloitte for 2 years top performance, going to masters now. :)

I’ve got an offer for a job I think is going to be much more interesting than my current role and significant pay bump. Downside is it’s permanent WFH and I think part of why I’ve got the urge to leave DT is the lack of people connection right now. Worth it?
Housing market is pretty good; I'd like to buy a place but wonder if it's ill advised since I haven't paid off all my student debt yet and there are rumblings about an impending recession
I have an interview offer with Teneo in their management consulting practice. It appears to be a stacked team with an interesting backstory. Does anyone have experience working with them? What’s the reputation? I’ve heard of the tangentially but would appreciate any insight!
Doing a short mileage run next month in Chicago, it’s a solo trip. Any tips and recs while I’m there? It’s a weekend
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
Feeling a bit down today because I’ve been applying, interviewing and getting several rejections. Nothing seems to be working out … I know I’m close but it does not make the rejections any easier. How do you cope? What’s the longest you’ve been searching for? Trying to stay positive & encouraged. TIA. PS I’m currently employed just looking to do more impactful & fulfilling work.
