I’m new into investment. I currently use Robinhood Gold to purchase stocks. What resources do you use to drive your buy/sell of stocks? Is there a tool/software that can give you more insights??

At this stage it’s best to learn your style of investing (I.e. growth, income, options, technical vs fundamental, etc...)The beginning years will be the most painful so start small. There are tons of free resources available sites like investopedia. You may want to subscribe to a service like Seeking Alpha; when they make a recommendation look into the stock to find out why they are recommending it and what factors they are focusing on. As you learn you’ll find yourself agreeing or disagreeing with them. I highly suggest reading Jim Cramers books he makes very complicated things simple and easy to understand.

I’m just saying I don’t think he’s the best/most reliable source

Step 1: get a legitimate brokerage acct (that’s free) like Fidelity/Vanguard/Schwab. They also all now have free trades for stocks/ETFs and minimal fees for options. Robinhood’s “free” competitive advantage is no longer a thing and is worse in all other ways compared to traditional brokerage firms.

Also these places allow you to trade in extended hours too. I applied for margin/trading options so it has all the functionality Robinhood lets you have with 0 screening.

I was averse to paying $5 per month and I hate Subscriptions - I have zero - no Amazon, Netflix etc - but then I saw the big advantage. I do not have to wait for money to be transferred. In today’s world with so much volatility, the ability to buy $5K stocks everyday without waiting is cool. Obviously I could deposit $50K in advance to save $60 a year but I just add it to my cost basis.

@OP see my comment above. All the major brokerage firms are basically the same and interchangeable. I’d probably recommend Schwab since they have good banking as well (no foreign transactions fees, free ATM withdrawals etc). I use Merrill since I bank with BoA and like being able to transfer my money easily. However, it is def worse compared to the big 3 for trading/investing.

What functionality do you need as a beginner investor to warrant paying a premium for RH Gold?

like

Yeah you can invest pre without gold too

This sc below is what you are getting for RH gold (30 minutes pre market trading is free for everyone). I paid $5 once to get upgraded instant deposits when I first started. Dont use gold anymore. I would do it again if I saw a short term opportunity to use the 20k+ of margin I would get access to.

Yay or nay. 675k rental investment home. Tenants pay 4350 leased for another year. House is pretty decent - no major issues or fixes. Some simple cosmetic changes can increase value. Decent area likely to appreciate. No HOA and we do our own property management. Doesn’t hit 1% rule buttt expenses will be fairly low.

I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.

In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.

I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.

Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

Prove me wrong. Crypto is dead, from countless scandals (one just added to FBI Top 10), to platforms collapsing/stealing coins, top cryptohedge funds liquidizing, mass layoffs - one of the original use cases is that coins could stabilize us in these types of economic environments. People will continue to trade, but actual adoption of people using coins for purchasing power (or even other utilities) just won’t happen.

Context, when I came out of college I took the avalanche approach for student debt.

Now I am a home owner and my visceral reaction is to overpay my mortgage, but my IR is well below inflation (anchoring on this years estimates which I've seen quoted around 6%).

Is a mortgage where the IR is < inflation free money and my incentive should be to make the minimum payment or am I missing some other variables to consider?

I don’t know exactly by how much and I’ve already contributed about $1,900 directly through my Roth IRA. Does anyone know if I can still do a backdoor Roth IRA for the remainder of the $6,000?
