Hey guys - does anyone have recommendations for Indian wavy 5x5 or 6x6 closures? I was going to order off of Amora Renae (https://www.amorarenaecollection.co/product/thin-swiss-lace-5x5-closure/) but they aren’t restocking. I’m still getting bundles from them, but clueless on another solid company that would have matching hair (friend is making me a wig bc of a natural hair crisis I’m having, I’m absolutely clueless when it comes to anything like this)!

It sounds like she gave you credit for it. Is the issue that it was poorly received by her boss?
I don’t understand your concern. I’m reading this as you got an early win and full credit for the work you did.
I think the white woman played herself. Good job on the case!
Ladies, you all make fantastic points! I think my concern was figuring out whether this coworker played me into having me do her work for her, knowing that it was assigned to her. Being new to an office, it is always hard to tell who is friend or foe initially. However, you all make a good point in that it may not matter because I got the credit for it and was recognized by upper management. Any other comments are certainly welcome!
This can go both ways. What's your relationship with your colleague? Look through the lens of her intentions.
I had a boss who did things similar to increase my visibility with upper management. I wouldn't say I liked it at first until superiors began to recognize me and could speak to others about my work.
That may be the case here. If not, chalk it up to the game and make sure to add this work to your list of accomplishments for your yearly review.

I think she is saying that the person “played” her to get it done!!! I think in the end… she still “came up” at least a little
If anything this is a lesson in the importance of amplifying a team members visibility when they take a leadership opportunity.
It sounds like the right thing was done here and I try to apply the same if this ever happens to me.
Sounds like she ensured you got credit and applauded your leadership on the project even though she trained you. She's lifting you up.

Can’t call it🤷🏽♀️ Do you think it can be a stepping stone to more responsibility and a promotion? If so NAH… you made your first bone chica
That’s what I was thinking. It sounds like a good thing to me. Maybe we’re missing something
She honestly may have just been overextended. Sounds like you got good experience, a good nod to the higher ups, and you and the coworker have an unspoken “I covered your ass” relationship that could actually play in your favor in terms of building relationships there. I’d say take the win, but also be watchful and establish boundaries where necessary, and maybe even start having conversations about staff needs earlier along if you see this happening again. You might directly ask if you’re needed to fill in a larger capacity if someone isn’t focusing on the project. Makes you look like a team player, gives you more control to get moving sooner if needed, helps build your leadership abilities.
Yeah, I would only be concerned if she used “we” when talking about how the work got done.
Kudos to you for knocking the case outta the park. Keep going!

You did the work and got the credit. Works for me.
You didn’t get played at all. She gave you all the credit as you deserved. Sounds like she messed up with taking the lead and she wasn’t going to admit to that. So to save face she said what she said. Would any of us here admit to that? No! Lol There’s no white privilege going on
Sound like you won!
