Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google
I swear some people are allergic to nuance.

I don’t know about Canada but from what I know of US regulations (which I assume are similar in Canada) you don’t need to share you current salary with the new employer. If you really need this new role, and aren’t able to force them to provide a number to you first, you can always tell them that you would need $x in order to be interested in the role. Just be aware that you will lose negotiating power by being the first to throw out a number. But if you need to push it through you can take this approach, pick a reasonable salary, and hold strong on the number
For early stage startup that is probably on the higher end, even for major cities (Van/Cal/TO/Mtl). Outside of those cities it'll likely be even lower.
