For bjj: Renzo Gracie Academy, Marcelo Garcia, and Unity (I went to one class and got weird vibes). MG had the best instruction but you can’t spar until 30 classes I believe, or 3 months and I personally believe that is way too long, the policy might have changed. RGA has way less instruction, but still good, and everyone trains sorta hard (which I enjoy).
If you’re more concerned with being technical and safe, MG. At this point I think now being able to spar at MG, I would consider moving there for the instruction. Although they don’t do leg locks, which is a modern part of the game at this point and might put you at a disadvantage in competitions. To “everyday porrada”, RGA. RGA also has Muay Thai.
There are other good bjj schools around but those are the upper echelon in my opinion (MG and RGA appear on “best in the world” lists)

I train at Unity and really enjoy it. They have the best competition team in NY IMO.
Never been to Renzo’s but it’s still commercialized for my liking.
Marcelo Garcia’s is good, I visited there for about 2 weeks years ago. Since then, I think quite a few of their top level guys left so I’m not sure how it is now.
All these places seem good, I'll definitely try them out. Anyone heard of Radical MMA. I've seen it online and it has good reviews
