I'm not religious but I love Church on Christmas. I think it's the nostalgia and ambiance.

I listened to a Ted talk by an atheist who said the same thing, how he loved the tradition, ambiance, nostalgia, and all that stuff and that not believing in god did not take away from that fun at all. You don't have to be a believer to enjoy fun things.

I'll have to find that Ted Talk!

And that's what I always say EY1 :)

Same here... except I go to the Christmas Eve service to sing the Christmas carols 🎵

I'm going this year to make my family happy. I haven't been to church other than for weddings in years.

I went to my parents' church to make them happy and the place is full of old people way more so than when I graduated 10 years ago, and the music program has gone to crap and they did a weird arrangement of joy to the world. It was awful. Never going to church for someone else again. (I have a church that is awesome, not bashing church...just ranting about the terrible state of my childhood church)

Hi All. Looking for thoughts on vertical expertise and whether it’s just a good sales tool or whether anyone has considered structuring the company in this format because it drives stronger work? I’ve always been fairly anti vertical because I think it stifles ideas and thinking, but you can always have people that specialize that you pull in when having bespoke industry knowledge can help. What do others think? Do clients want this from their partners?

Side hustle or startup ideas for someone who isn’t technical/doesn’t code? Where should I look or where to begin? I don’t have any strong passions or specific skills that I’m confident in. What books, articles, blogs, orgs, events, people I should follow for inspiration that has helped you? I have some cash to invest and am looking for a part time hustle that can cash flow at least a little bit of money on the side.

Scenario for my tech tran folks: a collaboration agreement includes a termination clause providing that either party may terminate the agreement if the other party breaches a "material" term of the agreement + not cured w/in 30 days. The term "material" is not defined therein. The agreement includes mutual warranties.

If a party breaches any warranty in the agreement, is the the other party automatically entitled to terminate the agreement for breach of a material term?

Hi all, can someone help me prepare interviews for HR roles please? Thank you

I haven't interviewed in years and feel absolutely out of place and underconfident. Not able to bring my A game to the table (I can't pitch myself as ideal candidate for position).

I have very strong profile for my experience. All my performance reviews continuously state I'm going above & beyond and theres nothing they can think of suggesting I do different. Just can't interview well

How do you get out of the burnout cycle? I’ve felt overwhelmed for a while and now I’m in the “can’t function at all” stage. It’s so hard explaining this to my manager because I already have a workload that’s lighter than others (not because of performance or my request). Any tips on how to get re-engaged, since the overwhelming feeling will come back?

I am currently in oracle with very good work life balance, and the manager is pretty chill and does not ask updates like everyday , not a lot of meetings as well and quite recently got an offer from JP morgan. JPMC team is credit risk and role is not fixed yet, that will be decided after onboarding .Want to know how is the WLB there compared to oracle. Can I settle down in jp morgan. I am tired of giving interviews and looking for new jobs 😞

How do you approach the initial conversation with your doctor? I have taken a variety of both anti anxiety and anti depressants. Nothing works. I’ve been reading online and in this bowl, and a lot of ADHD symptoms really resonate with me. They have for a long time, frankly, but I couldn’t get my former provider to take me seriously when I was in college/law school. I’m hoping the context of being out of school helps, but I just want to make sure I maximize my odds of getting help (cont)

How do you not care / stress way too much about your job? I am a mom and stressed out most workday evenings thinking about the work / interactions during the day. I have heard TEd talks about compartmentalizing job vs personal life , mindfulness etc , but I don’t change. I could literally leave my job & focus on kids alone & be fine as husband is in a executive position. Yet, it’s my own career focus & my self induced stress and pressure that takes a toll on me.
