I'm not sure if I should get masters in Computer Science. My advisor says it's really just a cash grab for Universities since software development field is really experience based. Based on my experience (3+ years) I could probably get a job easily after I graduate. What do y'all think is getting a masters worth it?

A lot of people I know in the IT space get certificates. Not sure about software development but that may be a route to look at

If it’s from a top school, then I’d say it’s worth it.

This is how I feel about masters in general, is it from a top school and how expensive is it?

So you can already code and have experience? Definitely don’t get the masters then.

3+ YOE then definitely go the job route. If anything once you get the job, you can have them pay for the masters if that’s what you really want

So I got offers at both a FAANG company (can't disclose yet) and Airbnb. The FAANG company offered higher total comp but I am thinking Airbnb stock options may be worth more in the long run. Any thoughts?

Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?

My husband and I have been wanting to start “trying” for a baby for a while now. However, I’m unhappy in my current role and would like to make a jump somewhere else. I have a few early interviews lined up but it’s still early days and no telling where they’ll go. Is it silly to put off trying until I find a new job? On the contrary, is it problematic if I accept a new role down the line while a few months pregnant? Either route feels like a compromise. Appreciate any input from mamas out there.

Is there a site that’s good for searching for mileage run flights? Where you can view only skyteam airlines, and filter by miles flown. What’s the best tool for that? Thx!

Not sure if anyone else deals with this, but I feel so inferior compared to my friends at medical school or those who went to Ivy post grads. I went straight to Accenture right after college and while I’m so grateful for having a good job, I just feel like I haven’t done enough and will never realize certain financial goals at the rate I’m going. The problem is I’ve never really been good at setting attainable goals and often get discouraged and feel as though I can never be “the high achiever”
