i am looking for job in consulting
Hi All,
Need suggestions here. Please help me out. I was interviewed with IBM and got selected. Waiting for offer letter. Meanwhile got selected in another company and got offer too. Put down my ppr. Offer from another company is way beyond than IBM almost 22% more in terms of fixed. Now I’m confused that once IBM releases their offer then should I ask them to match with my holding or not ? Will they consider for negotiations? What’s your thoughts? IBM

What’s your budget? Luxury is subjective ...Patek Philippe (8k+), Rolex (5k+)...or Burberry $500
I’d focus on 2 things:
-your budget as many others have pointed out since there are many different price points for watches.
-whether your mom is a fashion person or a watch person. Eg Tag is a watch person watch as is Rolex. Cartier, Chanel and basically any fashion houses, including more affordable brands like Michael Kors, are fashion watches. I’ll tell you mine is the latter who likes pretty things, so she either goes by fashion brand or just the aesthetic.
My two personal favorite brands that are in the entry range for “watch people” watches are Shinola and Tag. Shinola has a great story and a classic look with some feminine options. Tag is a solid choice that’s more expensive but has some great options in the lower range. I hope that helps.
It is very sweet of you. I’m sure she will appreciate a macaroni necklace since she’s your mom, so don’t over think it too much. :)

Agree that it’s very subjective- I would start with budget and go from there. Top of the line luxury can start in the few k’s, but there are different levels that can suit your needs and not cost a small down payment.

Cartier makes beautiful watch designs for women! Tank francaise, Tank louis, and Panthere are classics (and my personal favorites).
Rolex.. timeless and price only go up. It’s the watch equivalent of a Chanel 😂
The right choice depends entirely on your budget and preferences, but as D1 said, Patek Philippe or Rolex are great choices if you are looking for an amazing watch made by a company with strong brand recognition and value over time.
There are beautiful options from lots of high end designers also, but keep in mind that being designer doesn't mean a watch made by them is a great watch (this depends on what is important to you, but it's worth being aware of this difference). Jewelers like Cartier, Faberge, and Tiffany may be good options, and designers like Chanel also sell watches. Hope this helps!
