Spread out your calorie intake so you don’t hit your calorie goal at like 3pm. Also it takes a few days but your body will adjust and you’ll no longer feel hungry. Drinking lots of water helps also
Try to identify what time of day you snack the most (especially if it’s due to boredom/needing a work break) and plan things (work calls, errands, etc.) during that time so you’re less tempted to snack.
It’s always been mental for me, and I find it’s easier when I’m actually tracking my calories. I’ll essentially tell myself, “you’ve had xx calories today, that’s all you need.”
We learn to listen to our body’s signals that tell us when we need things: food, water, bathroom break. The problem is when we are trying to lose weight we need to ignore the hunger cues. So for me it’s always been an exercise of “mind over matter” where mentally I take control and tell my body what it needs.
Just make sure you are taking in a balanced and nutritionally dense diet when you are limiting your calories. It’s easy to move our bodies into starvation mode and destroy lean muscle mass.
egg whites, low fat greek yoghurt, fruits and vegetables are all max volume min calories; find tasty things to make with those and fill yourself up! check out volume eating recipes on youtube
I am doing the same type of diet (1550 calories per day) and I’ve noticed if I eat three small meals and several snacks, I don’t get crazy cravings. For example, I had overnight oats with oat milk, walnuts, a touch of honey, and coffee for breakfast. I had some strawberries for a mid morning snack, then a homemade spinach salad for lunch. Some snap peas and hummus for post-lunch snack, then homemade broccoli cheddar soup for dinner. Its 9pm and I still feel full.
That said, if I get hungry at night, I make myself some tea or drink a bunch of water and try to go to sleep early (so I’m not a cranky monster). But if I eat constantly throughout the day, I’ve noticed that I don’t get crazy cravings at night. Hope this helps!
