It's your second day. Don't pretend to know better than everyone who's been there longer than you. Give it a chance and suggest things that you think could bring value to the account. If it's not a fit, then leave. But do so because it's not a fit, not a because you disagree with their procedure or a client's style.
Talk with your team about it. You’re an Executive so act like one. Negativity only goes down, be positive and determine a vision of a future state. Think strategically. I would ask that you own the challenge as your opportunity to prove your ability. Remember, you are an agent of change. Be a positive agent. Don’t listen to those dark voices within each of us and act to bring light into the situation. I envy you, this is a time you can make a difference. Many work years doing safe things, you can make change happen if you can bring it out in yourself. Don’t quit, be a tower of strength! That’s what the client and the team needs.
I’d say you gotta chalk it up. It’s one account. Learn what you can. Speak up when you feel confident to do so. Ask the question that are on your mind. Maybe there’s a reason for it. Maybe the have wild billables and so everyone just falls in line who knows. And try to find joy in your day by other means. Now all that said if it turns out to be a sh*t show then roll out.
Yes. When I left my first job my SVP said that I will want to come back but I should stay because I will learn lots by leaving. You might too. I would be a sponge and learn things before you pass final judgement. You left your old place for a reason. Try and be open minded to learn new things where you are at now. Around the 4-5 month mark, if you are feeling the same you might reconsider. Unless you really feel you can’t deal, then get a new job ASAP
