Im getting into swimming and I’m like OCD about my watch tracking my workout as accurate as possible (even if it’s not the most accurate 🤷🏻‍♀️). I used the open swim for the first time yesterday and one down is 25 yds but one full lap is 50 yds and regardless I don’t think it tracked my swim accurately. Is there a trick? About to accept an offer at a small private company. Lower base than I make now, but have been told there’s no cap on variable. They’ve told me that the goal is to pay me more (total comp) than I make now, but there are no KPIs or target bonus explicitly in the offer. Having tough time deciding between IB & Consulting. My thought process: I have a "better" background for IB (TAS/valuation) and with tech layoffs, this might push more potential would-be tech applications to pursue consulting (there by increased competition)? Additionally, you can do IB intern and full time consulting but not vice versa. I prefer consulting, but IB seems like the "safer" option? And if consulting does get hit hard, I would hopefully have a full time IB offer via internship.
