After you get back

I did precisely this. I gave a 2 week notice during my leave before I had to start the new place (make sure conflicts are cleared). Firm wasn’t happy but didn’t prevent me from completing my leave. I guess they could have said to leave right away but they didn’t. Not an employment lawyer here so idk but I guess it’s a risk you’ll take. There was no clawback etc. though.
On the last day of your leave or your first day back is quite common. Also recommend a Friday

I’m not going back, ideally.

Then you need to pass conflicts and give notice right before you start.
Check your policies, you might have to go back for a certain period of time or they can make you repay health insurance premiums

I don’t think so. But, I haven’t read things cover to cover. Haha.
Are you on paid leave? Many firms have a clawback policy if you leave too soon after you return.

I scoured the handbook and saw nothing. It just says if you don’t come back it’s deemed that you resigned. I assume I’m good?
