Take it lol. At least I would

Is the role interesting? "Prestige" doesn't matter if you are appreciated and you like the role.

Never know until you try. If you think the startup is stable, doesn’t hurt. Worst case scenario, you go back to the firm after a few years with some more money in your bank account and more experience on your resume

like

This is good advice. Just make sure startup is stable enough so that you can stay there for couple years at least given the current conditions.

like

Take it. If your goal is to get a pay bump by hopping every few years then this is it. Your salary increases at ACN will be slower. And you aren’t being challenged. It sounds alright now but if you are ambitious it will get boring and eat at you.

like

Thanks for the suggestion M2. I commented elsewhere that it’ll take 3-4 more years to hit the startup salary if I stay at ACN. I’m challenged right now, but not in the ways I want to be/doing the type of work I’m interested in.

I’ve been at my current role for 3 yrs and I’d be a Manager at the startup. I’d be moving away from all of the responsibilities of my current job I don’t like & focusing on the aspects I do like. The CFO has plans to grow the company and the potential for upward mobility (senior manager/director) is there. The startup is 100% stable, no covid layoffs, tons of cash on the books, and has major financial backing from the parent company in case things go south.

like

This sounds like you want to take it

Honestly, my goals are job hopping every few years, getting pay bumps, and growing my skill set. I’ve learned mostly everything I can at my current role and I dislike 75% of the job responsibilities. I’ve become comfortable and can finish my work in half the work week though so I’m tempted to stay and ride it out.

like

You’re answering your own q here then. You’re saying you want to take it

like

dude it’s ACN... you can come back at any time

Is it that easy to boomerang?

Are you TDP? 70k sounds about par for the course. Can I ask what skills you have to make that move? And yes take it 100%

You’re a senior analyst here??? Getting paid 70? Dude leave, now Accounting background? Did you do any projects in accounting here? I have similar background and want a bump like yours

@OP- What are YOUR GOALS?

Dont do jt. There’s literally no upside anymore. You join a startup to get acquired

I would take it

I’m currently in VC and am happy to supply a list of awesome companies that have upside!!!
