Be kind to yourself. This year has been hard on all of us and it will take some time to adjust back to our normal ways of doing things. (This happened to me after going through the worst of COVID in NYC - I’ve forgotten how to interact with humans and I had to practically re-teach myself how to walk after over a month not leaving my apartment.) Take some time to identify a couple small things you are grateful for today. We will get through this. Also, vacation comes with a lot of pressure to “make the most” of it. But it really should just be your time to do what you enjoy. If that means taking a day in to watch Netflix, so be it. That’s completely valid. I would only recommend that you try your hardest to get some fresh air and sunlight for at least 10 minutes each day, because it makes a huge difference.

I find that taking a week off isn't enough to really get the break I need. I took a week off and by the last day I was dreading having to go back. Some things just take time. Now the anxiety part probably should be addressed through therapy or meds. You have to unbundle what is inside of you so you can back to the person you used to be.

The pressure at work has increasingly led to a strain on my mental health. I have allowed myself one too many times to prioritize the needs of others (clients, PPMDs, etc.) before my own and the price is showing in my inability to highly perform like once before. I’m at the point of not caring about anything any longer, even if that means risking my job. I’m not sure the reason I’m posting this—perhaps I’m seeking guidance or maybe I just needed to vent. Anyone else get terrible sick after leaving a toxic job? I left my old job earlier this year. Prior to me leaving, I had been dealing with some stomach issues, mainly due to stress, not eating regularly or balanced. I started my new job in the Spring and this summer, my stomach issue flared up pretty severely. Bad enough that I’m on multiple meds and taken so much time off of work being sick. I guess my stomach was like “let’s wait until she finds a safe work environment and then get sick.”

Help & suggestions please. I don’t have parents and recently had a kid. I am having trouble in recovery and my daughter is a preemie. I am going back to work in December but can’t send kid to daycare due to health. My aunt who raised me wants to visit and help me out , see places too. With the travel ban going away , can she get a visitor visa so that I have someone reliable in the house along with the new nanny. Are visitor visas possible to get now ? MIL is another option but she is aged.

Any current/Ex IBM please guide me to Opt In/Out of the IBM's Medical Insurance. To start of there is a co share of premium for a base sum insured of 3L which comes around 1790/- Then skipping the benefits for a second if I jump on to the claim part there is a Copay of 10-90. Just turned 50 and allocated about 10% in my 401k to a long term bond fund which is already down 3% this year . I am not a fan of bonds especially with the current rate environment. Any suggestions instead of bonds to protect principal . Money market ? Target date fund ?

EU big 4 Sequence of events: Wk 0- confirmed offer on video followed by an compensation detail email Wk 1- Negotiations Wk 2- Recruiter promised to have the final number. Didn't. Wk 3- received the final numbers after a follow up. Accepted. I have an interview tomorrow with an ECD at an agency that is showing some red flags. But I’m at an agency now that is just one giant red flag and is driving me crazy.
