CFA won't do anything for you unless you want equity research. Best way to get into PE from FDD is to go to b-school and work in banking for a year or two.

I’ve worked in management consulting for my 16 year career. As consultants we live and die by our resumes, which are usually structured by the engagements we support. Like the rest of us I have broad functional and market experience, but am not getting the traction I expected from recruiters. I think it’s because I am using the consulting resume design. Does anyone have suggestions on a different approach that will appeal to recruiters from other industries?
