I’m planning on asking for a raise for the first time in my career and I want to list out my accomplishments but I don’t want to seem cocky about it. (cont’d)

I did this a few months ago. I get nervous in that kind of setting so I literally printed out a list of my accomplishments (along with a couple things that I wanted to continue to improve) and handed it out to my managers during a meeting I setup for us all. I got lots of praise for the boldness and got the raise (and promotion) a couple weeks later. It was uncomfortable but 100% worth it! Go for it and let us know how it goes:)

Same but I actually prepared a deck. 🤣 It included comp salaries (I was severely underpaid) and my accomplishments and my history with the department (a series of promotions without raises 🙄) and presented it over lunch when I got my review. I was asking for a 40% raise and got almost all I asked for. Good luck!!

It’s not cocky to be honest. Be proud of yourself, you’re working hard! Say something like, “I wanted to talk to you about getting a raise. Over the last year I’ve done X, Y, and Z, on [accounts/projects] and based on that I’d like a raise to reflect the work I’ve been doing for the agency. What do you think about [number]?”

I also don’t know if I should ask for a range in salary or a specific amount. I know what my peers make, so I have an accurate amount in mind.

Ask for an amount, negotiate from there assuming they don’t say no.

Question for EY moms - my husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon, so I was looking up the parental leave policy to see what my options are. I know some firms have clawback clauses that require you to come back to work for a specific period of time or else you have to pay back the salary you received while on leave, but I couldn’t find anything similar in the EY policy. Does this mean EY doesn’t have a clawback clause for parental leave, or is it just hidden away somewhere? TIA!

Evaluating an exit into Amazon as L6 product manager (TC: $225K) after 1 year at BCG. I want to work in tech/fintech long term. Questions: 1) Is the work life balance better at Amazon, than BCG? Currently I'm averaging 70 hours a week. More than that, the pace is quite insane. Deliverables every couple of hours. 2) Is the level of mentorship/coaching better at Amazon? 3) Is the offer reasonable? Their upper max is 250k and I'm currently at 240, should I try to atleast get my current TC?
