Any suggestions for interview questions to ask a first-time manager? I’m applying for a potential role, and the Hiring Manager (potential boss who I would report to) has never had any direct reports. I’m not sure what to ask them to find out if they would be a micromanager or a bad boss. The questions that I’ve seen online all start with “Tell me about a time when …” but there are no such times!

As a chemical engineer, I have a lot of job opportunities, but as a recent graduate, I have had a hard time getting my first job. After my internship, I have only had 3 interviews. Does anyone know about any job bank for chemical engineers?

Currently 6 years at job A at 100K and 10K annual bonus but lil to no upward mobility. It's safe if not going anywhere.

Recruiter reached out regarding Job B at 130K with greater advancement potential but it starts out at 6 Months Contract to Hire per the agency contract. No bonus, benefits adequate by comparison. There is no guarantee to go full time.

Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? I’m in-house at a publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?

How bad does it look to future employers for an experienced attorney (15+ years) who is pivoting into a different practice area and looking to lateral after only having been at their current/first job for 4-5 months in the new practice area? I've been told by a recruiter that it's not a deal breaker because of my experience level. I did an initial interview with a firm Thursday morning. They asked for references and I provided them the following day along with my thank you note. In past experiences, I would have heard something by now unless they were not interested at all. Am I wrong to just write this one off?
