I’m planning on reaching out directly to legal recruiters on LinkedIn with my CV. Any thoughts on how to do this in the most effective / least annoying way possible ?

Just message them with a confident and congenial cover letter. Or if they have a site where they suggest you contact them, go that route. I wouldn't worry about being annoying, as long as you present a professional demeanor in your communication they shouldn't be annoyed.

That is the wisest decision to make at the moment, but my company has an opening that might fit you perfectly. There’s flexibility in working hours, the PS is good and the position is remote. Meaning you get enough time to yourself would you be interested?

I wouldn’t mind learning a bit more about the role

Unfortunately, legal recruiters generally don’t work with students or professionals seeking entry level positions. It’s often explicitly stated in fee agreements that no fee is paid for entry level candidates.

You’re time would be better served working closely with your career services resources that hopefully have strong relationships with those wanting to hire recent graduates.

Best of luck in the job search!

I would be cautious in sending your CV to an unknown recruiter until you’ve discussed your interests and whether the recruiter has a match for you. Make sure you know the firms or companies that have your CV.

Any suggestions for interview questions to ask a first-time manager? I’m applying for a potential role, and the Hiring Manager (potential boss who I would report to) has never had any direct reports. I’m not sure what to ask them to find out if they would be a micromanager or a bad boss. The questions that I’ve seen online all start with “Tell me about a time when …” but there are no such times!

Recruiter reached out regarding Job B at 130K with greater advancement potential but it starts out at 6 Months Contract to Hire per the agency contract. No bonus, benefits adequate by comparison. There is no guarantee to go full time.

Interview just for practice?

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?

Any recruiter here who would like to work with a foreign-educated attorney without much experience?

How bad does it look to future employers for an experienced attorney (15+ years) who is pivoting into a different practice area and looking to lateral after only having been at their current/first job for 4-5 months in the new practice area? I've been told by a recruiter that it's not a deal breaker because of my experience level. But many colleagues have suggested I remain where I'm at (miserable and unappreciated - just took a $20k pay cut) for at least a year.
