I’m presenting to a client I hate right before an interview at my dream agency and I can barely contain myself.

Has anyone just quit there job without another lined up? I’ve just been at my breaking point and don’t know how much longer I can last.

Would you guys apply at one of those companies that did a mass lay off and then started to recruit again for the same positions? My friend just landed some interviews and two of the companies she’s interviewing with did mass layoffs this summer. I’m telling her that’s not a good sign and she thinks I’m overreacting.

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? The acquisition was public so they can see Im no longer employed with the most recent work history on my resume

How do you deal with the constant rejection in the job hunt as a entry level UI UX candidate? I’ve watched my spouse make it the last rounds of multiple interviews, just to get rejected, and the last interviewer told him he didn’t have as much detail in his portfolio as she’d like to see. Any advice I can share with him on how to pick yourself up and make meaningful progress in the job search?

How do you go about answering the inevitable interview question, “can you tell me about yourself?” I find myself struggling to strike the right balance between brevity and over explaining. Thanks!

I’m currently interviewing for a hybrid Jr UX Designer role for a fragrance company. The compensation is between 70-80k. I searched the market rate in NYC and the salaries are between 103-120k. I assume this is based on the company, industry, and experience. I have a graphic design background with 10 years experience and have a springboard certification for UX. I don’t want to get low balled as I have been in the past. Is it unreasonable to ask for what’s market value when it’s a team of 5?

Looking for advice, is it a bad idea to take a chance on an early stage startup (20 FTEs) in our current economy or go for it? I'm currently interviewing for a head of product role, and really torn about the timing.

Added context, they raised about $4M in seed funding and the founders say they're overcommitted for their series A which is currently being closed. I've been in product for 7 years, definitely feel equipped to do the job, but would like to stay at least 1.5-2 years if I do this.

I’m a mid level engineer and my team is overwhelmed. There’s more work than we can complete in the timelines that leadership/product has committed to, which is causing leadership to override technical decisions seemingly to meet those deadlines. I confess that I visit HUGE website at least once a week. I inspect their content, and their code. The fact that they use a cat or a gif with some random old cartoon as a thumbnail for a Google or Nike project makes me tremendous jealous.
