I’m really having to convince my children’s teachers that wearing masks hinders comprehension and language acquisition. I’m a speech therapist and I’ve got MANY and varied and scientifically supported reasons why the teacher wearing a mask is a barrier to learning, but none of them take it seriously. BAH!

Things have been super stressful at work lately for a variety of reasons & a couple of weeks ago I decided to raise the issues with my Creative Director.
For context, he’s the reason for a lot of these problems and I (tactfully, I think) said as much. He listened to me patiently but took no responsibility and deflected blame with every issue raised.
Today he asked me to send an email to him about how overworked I am so that he can use it to talk to management. (cont. in comments)

My condo association still has signs telling people to wear masks and stay 6’ apart. These are signs that are posted On My Home.☹️. All of the lockdowns started on my Birthday. this year for my birthday I’m going to remove as many signs as I can get my hands on, as a birthday present to myself. 🥳

I work part-time @ Lowe’s to supplement my teacher salary. Over the weekend, the store withdrew its mask mandate for employees. Yet my district still requires masking. The children in our schools are so much less in danger from Covid than are the senior adults shopping for lumber & toilet repair kits. Yet masking rules would seem to indicate the opposite.

Next week is Spring Break. My district is finally making masks optional beginning the 2nd Monday after Spring Break. But I wonder why we don’t start now if they are considering CDC guidelines as they have stated.

Today my school officially put up signs for “masks strongly encouraged” in red. DONT MIND IF I DO! I’m so glad I can walk around without one now. I do not care if anyone judges me. I am so excited about it. Our principal suggested that we “serve our community” with the new protocol, which is silly. Please let me love my life in peace. If my face is a health concern, here is another mask that you can triple up with.
