What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

No, it’s the people on the app. The app has no capacity for value judgment.

millionaire is the new american middle class, so this makes sense.
We are all just modern day peasantry when you put things into perspective.
You're clearly so far removed from reality.
Your POV is heavily skewed. How many people you know are earning above 300k?
It’s actually wild how entitled you sound

Is this post a joke lol, you can’t say income is a problem when you have totally unrealistic goals (retiring by 50) - that’s at least 15 year’s less income than most ppl would get
Agree with D2, D1 and D1. I grew up knowing people from both end of the spectrums - those who literally rarely had take out like I’m talking a few times a year as special treats for bday and I’m talking cheap ass fake Chinese buffet, and I knew people who owned companies (so they weren’t even really working as they pocket the money but not do much work) with Ferraris and lambos spending 6 figure (yep ur whole paycheck) in games they lost interest in a couple months. I’m here to say your view circle most definitely do not represent the world as a whole. If u don’t understand how they built
That wealth (the actual secrets, not just “generational wealth”) that means u are not actually one of them, yet, cuz otherwise ud know, I say, observe more and ask question and observe more, the choices they make, not the choices to ask for a raise or what’s 401 match is, watch how they play the tax game and what they are doing with it under the table they don’t advertise, that’s the reasons u can be financially free. $300k salary and thinking house hack is 100% down only shows you have yet to understand how mortgage or loan or interest works at all, let alone how the rich actually build wealth.
Who retired before 50 and why would you want to
I know people that doesn’t work pass 50 either LOL they are now homeless
This beats the one post I saw that said their 150k base salary was low
man I feel like y’all’s first salary considering it’s a decade ago from mine now makes me feel worst about mine…first job also $40k but then more than doubled within 1 year thru two job hops
One of the dumber things I’ve seen said on here
Apropos of nothing… wisdom and intelligence are not the same thing.

Data scientist? Go look at some data on American household salaries…
Yeah, if you want to retire before 50 you’re going to need a way above average salary …. In other news …
How am I the first to point out that there are more places than the Midwest and the East Coast
Montana is just a way to avoid sales tax on cars
Why do you want to retire before 50 ? Genuinely curious. I mean slow down or do something different but trust me, people I know who retire early are often bored out of their minds in 6 months. You’ve still got at least 30 years to go at that point. 30 years of vacations and Netflix ? Gimme a break
My first consulting gig I worked a SOX project and the client had a retired EY partner advising them. And I remember chatting with him one day and asked him why he would come back to rate race? He said ‘there is only so many rounds of golf you can play before you are bored out of your mind..’ and he was like 65 or so.
You're so out of touch with 98% of the US it's unreal.

Here’s some solid data from the census bureau for the data scientist. On the home prices, that’s how out of wack real estate prices have become in relation to income levels.

I don’t understand why you’d assume 50 is a normal retiring age lol even if that’s your personal experience.
Hi, fellow data Scientist in nyc here. I have moved in with roommates to get a sense of how ppl sub 60k live. Currently clear 440k a year. Living like I make 90k(no point in flexing, just omit the other 350, id rather take care of immigrants parents secretly). What I seem to observe is that they just do less stuff. Ie. They don’t get to enjoy life. More things are just not possible 🤷🏼♂️ Also, walking on egg shells when discussing investments, 401k contributions, debt, etc. I guess they work till 65!? Barely scraping 1M for retirement?
Haha ur reality is so real it hurts
Yeah same guy - when I found out people don’t just use their money as toilet paper I was absolutely shocked
