I highly recommend the Cornell Weill Anxiety Clinic (Weill Cornell Psychiatry Specialty Center). Booking an appointment can take months but it completely worked for me after a traumatic experience. Meaning, I had TERRIBLE PTSD/anxiety to the point where it was affecting me even walking because of the way my body physically manifested and expressed the anxiety/stress that I was feeling. And it’s ALL GONE! I did one year of once a week CBT therapy and no medication, but everyone is different. Just call them: (646) 962-2820. Columbia has a similar program but their program was around $200 a session as I recall. This was a number of years ago, so my information may be out of date.
I’m not sure you’ll be able to ask the political affiliations of the therapist, but when reaching out to people he is interested in he can certainly explain his own and mention any distress felt by the current political landscape. I would highly recommend searching on the psychology today directory.
Headway.co can be a great resource!

It might take a while but find someone whose personality jives. It’s like trying to find a best friend who also has no mutual relations.
