I'm seeing a lot of busy season only positions showing up... do people actually take these? what's the benefit

we have a couple people that do this at our firm - they get paid a lot better for the 4 months (eg overtime) and take the other time to travel/do volunteer work etc.

the benefit is that you’re a temporary employee. Yes people totally take these as I’ve had some on my teams each year.

I took this as I was moving from another country. Now I'm fully employed at the firm.

I can imagine a 5 month busy season stint getting paid hourly equals out to what some first year staffs are paid.... 😬

Yeah I’ve seen the pay for seniors who do this and it’s more than many managers make.

I start a new position at a new company on Monday! Very excited. 🥳 I have many meetings set up to meet internal stakeholders, leaders, etc to get to know them as humans and their roles. It’s 100% remote/remote first and in my first 30 days I’ll be meeting ~70 people. Any suggestions about what to ask, any questions you found useful to ask that helped you understand new team mates quickly? Thank you! 😊

I have been in the electrical / Electronics field with an exp of 6+ yrs. To be honest these fields do not pay as much as their IT counterparts. People in IT discuss on being underpaid at 20LPA whereas ours is not even half of that. I need to know now is that with 6+ years of industry exp. Can I switch my streams for a well paid job. If yes please do help me out. Even otherwise I am open to suggestions and advice.

Repotted my monstera last night and it went from pretty upright with a nice arch, to looking like it’s going to fall over. I know some people give their monstera a pole to climb, but that’s not what we are looking to do with ours and I know they can look nice & be healthy without a pole

What to do if a person has provided an employer with a fake social security card and is marrying a USC? Unauthorized work isn't a bar for immediate relatives, and they didn't present themselves as a USC for a benefit under the Act, so AOS as usual is my thinking. Am I right?

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients.
