I’m seeing a lot of posts of people leaving Deloitte, but I know they’re doing a huge hiring push for cyber. What’s the work / life / morale look like there?

Lots of unhappy people at the moment... People generally feel under-appreciated and with the much lower than expected raises/bonuses the Cyber practice sent a message that they think folks are replaceable (especially knowing the raises/bonuses that their Deloitte Consulting counterparts are getting (huge gap, for similar performance metrics) as well as knowing that the partner unit values are at record high this year. In my opinion, I don't think this would be as big of an issue if the expectations weren't set at such high level. But then some service lines delivered (Deloitte Consulting) and other (Advisory) decided not to...

There was also a lot of messaging around how cyber specifically was having a killer year and we didn’t see this translates into comp

I think we’re definitely underpaid, but I do enjoy my work and the skills I am building.

I'm still shocked that as a cyber consultant I only got a 6% raise. I've seen that is average among Deloitte consultants, but I can't believe that a field as hot as cyber isn't getting better raises

I know people who got double digit raises for good performance in digital transformation and BI development (no promo, pre-covid since nobody else has released raises this year), so when strong performers at Deloitte got 6%, I noticed.

In the past year all of the good talent left. There is major gaps in technical skills. It's a great place to set you up for the future but it's on you to leverage the network to plan your exit.

Funniest scenario is received 3 emails today from other Managers who mentioned they're quitting Monday, one day after bonus - one email was sent to 300 people in which they told HR to transfer their assigned interns to someone else. Most ppl left here don't give a damn anymore.

I was reached out to about a role that I was interested in pursuing but the recruiter said their base was 30k-40k lower than my range. However, recruiter came back 2 weeks later and said they can make it work and is interested in setting me up for interviews. In the mean time within those 2 weeks, I ended up accepting a role and started the new job. I would have taken the first job but don’t want to renege. What do I tell the first company so doors are left open for future if needs arise?

Trying to decide between two portfolio ops roles, both in the Bay Area: Small-ish VC firm, ~135k base + 35k bonus Medium PE firm, ~115k base + 115k bonus Which would you choose? I’m leaning towards the PE firm bc it’s more hands-on, faster learning curve, and higher TC, but the VC role seems to have a better WLB and generally sounds cooler (getting exposed to VC vs continuing in the corporate world). What do you think?

Potential agency boomerang having a hard time making a decision to stay brand-side or go back. Need some advice! Do I leave the brand, being "the client," fun work, great WLB, as well as the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced and meh pay? Do I go back to agency lead a new team with significant responsibilities, forget about WLB, sell my soul alongside smart people, get great pay and benefits? PS: I'm a mom and brand-side for 5 years. What do I need to know!? Thank you!

A white friend is looking to buy an apartment. One apartment is in an older building in an established neighborhood. It doesn't have an in-unit washer/dryer. The other apartment is in a brand new building in a historically black neighborhood that has seen a lot of gentrification but it's still near a project with a gym, a nice roofdeck with a grill and in-unit washer dryer and costs $100k less. She's considering the first place despite it being more expensive and older. Racism is expensive.

I am going to make a move from the US to Canada in a month. I started browsing for places to rent and trying to pin down a decent area to live. I will be moving with my wife and 1 year old twins. I will have a car. What are some good areas to live? We are looking for a bigger space than apartments- ideally a townhome or semi-detached. I will work for Deloitte, so the office will be downtown. Not sure if driving is advisable as a daily commute as and when things open up.
