I'm seeing a lot of teachers post that one advantage of remote teaching is fewer disruptions. While this is true, I also notice less engagement. I have students who are clearly looking down and doing something else (probably texting on phone?). Now that I can't ban cell phones in class, what can I do?

Working in a large health system as a quality professional WFH. I rarely see anyone else on my team, and when I do present findings I see no changes happening. Maybe they’re happening and I just don’t have a role in that oversight but the motivation to keep going is whittling down to nothing. I’ve been in healthcare for years but graduated with a masters in last two years and was hoping for something different. I have been applying to so many jobs and not many calls back. Any advice ?

Many of us find it easy to WFH/Remote. (Well many might like the opposite or hybrid and that's totally okay)

But If you were called by your employer and you convince that you can work better from home and agreed to extend or convert you to remote..!

I work from home and get pretty chilly in the winter. I rely on a Patagonia quarter zip for daily warmth but it's just a little too casual to wear on client calls. Any favorites for warm and cozy but professional for video meetings?

I just had a school secretary email me to say that one of my classes was ‘the worse class the sub had ever taught’. And that I should review class expectations with them. It’s a small 50 min reading class of 10 students (5th). About half of them receive SPED services. I haven’t had anything but minor off task behavior with this class before.
