Agree. I’m also shocked at the number of people who can deny reality to fit what they wish. There is no excuse at this point, we have all the information we need to make the right decisions, we just need the will to do so. Out of respect for those who have died, are sick, struggling, caring for patients, providing essential services for minimum wage, losing their jobs, their businesses and their loved ones and trying to survive, let’s try this again. All of us. Wear a mask, distance, stay home. It is the very least we can do.

Go away

I’m surprised by the number of smart people who emphasize locking yourself inside rather than getting sunshine, eating well, exercising, taking vitamins, etc.

I wear a mask to comply. But expecting that to contain the virus is like expecting your underwear to contain your farts.

They don’t do anything. All studies done only cite blocking bacteria, which are way larger than viruses. I promise the virus is flying right through that shit.

Boost your immune system.

Thank you for the correction

With that said, restaurants should be kept clean and sanitary regardless of whether or not there’s a pandemic going on

I’m with you. COVID aside, food borne illness is no no no. I want all restaurants and anyone preparing food to have a HEALTHY relationship with soap, water and bleach.

100%. Unless people are sneezing into your eyes or you are licking things people have touched, Clorox wipes don’t matter. Breathing other peoples’ unmasked breath is what matters.

like

But can stay on surfaces 1 - 30 days depending on the surface type, you don’t worry about the risk there? Agreed breathing is the main factor though

Ah, the great virtue signal and the I’m smarter than you post. Thank you for letting us know

Always trust a partner to think they have all the info they need to make a decision, even when they have no clue!

ECDC (European CDC) has not identified a single case of fomite (surface) transmission. It’s all about the aerosols

like

I’m not sure I would say the risk is 0, but if they haven’t identified a single case it is exceedingly rare. I still use sanitizer when I touch surfaces but I don’t worry about them.

This. Also, there is unnecessary weight traveling through these daily headlines of “COVID RESTRICTIONS INCREASED ACROSS THE NATION.” Like, no Idaho, you just finally got a mask mandate. Sometimes there are disadvantages to state gov’ts having their own regulations.

Yeah the obsession with disinfecting everything is like blowing someone while they wear a condom and then taking it off for sex

Hey now, don’t kink shame

Part of the problem is that there is a lot of reality denying all around. It is true it is a real and deadly disease. It is also true that young, healthy people statistically have much less to fear than the old and the sick. It is also true that social distancing and masking work. It is also true that social distancing in particular exacts a heinous toll and in and of itself produces deaths (eg mental health, drug overdose, murder). It is also true that the majority of people who have had it and recover are most likely immune (although not in all cases) for some not insignificant but still unknown period of time. It is also true that testing is good, but imperfect in its accuracy (but if we rely on it for things like surgeries, is it unfair for people to rely on it knowing the risks to see family?) All I see all around are people denying the truths that oppose their narrative.....it’s very frustrating.

Having a rough week. Can’t seem to do anything right. I’m determined to turn this week around so I’d love it if you ladies could post some motivational quotes/mantras that help you get through rough days/weeks at work.

I was told that my team approved my internal transfer to another team, and that it’s up to my new manager and my current manager to decide on my transition date. Two weeks later I’m told that unless someone gets hired I am unable to start on the new team, but my new manager is asking me to meet the new client in the next couple of weeks. I’ve brought this with my current manager but turns out he did not know I was transferring off. Who do I get in touch with? HR? My current manager? Or new?
