Hi all! I currently work as a Project Specialist and a Scrum Master for an agile pod. I want to get an official SM certification. We don’t follow SAFe yet but we are moving towards that methodology, so we have the SAFe Scrum Master Certification (SSM) available through work (which I am signed up to complete). My question is from the resume perspective does the SSM cert have the same significance as CSM?

Any thoughts on how to correct a client who consistently misuses a team member’s name? There’s a race/gender dynamic: client is 50s white male, team member is 20s Asian female. Let’s say her name is Jinmin Lee; client uses “Lee” as her first name. I’ve tried to correct it in a way that leaves room for a genuine misunderstanding (HIM: I need Lee’s info; ME: yes, I’ll send Jinmin’s info), but it’s happening repeatedly. Lately, there has been a lot of “shopping around” by business units for the legal advice they want to hear. One has now gone over my head twice to the GC to get a legal “okay” that I advised against. “Tattling” on me first saying “no.” These power plays are really frustrating. We have a culture of “getting the client to YES,” but it’s hard for me to do that when I know the “yes” will bring certain liability to us. Is there an effective strategy to succeeding in this type of atmosphere?

I am transgender and I don’t believe that gender is made up. When being trans became so complicated? I was happy with the “I was born in the wrong body” storyline, which can be easily explained by how the brain is formed, hormones during pregnancy and etc. I believe transgender-ism can be perfectly explained by biology, we just don’t know all the answers yet.
