Are you too slow or do you answer questions incorrectly?

Practice a lot. For GRE the practice book I used let us create our own tests online, so I would just create ones using all of the hardest questions. I was only getting around 60% on practice but the real thing was a breeze.

@c1.. What practice book did you use?

Relax and find a time of day that works for you.

practice effectively. dont get down on yourself for not getting the answers right, take the practice test, go do something else for an hour, come back and grade the test, do something else for an hour, sit down with the questions you got wrong and think through what your process was while you answered it during test taking and what you should have done differently.

While flawed, standardized tests are an objective unbiased measure of intelligence. Your opinion is both subjective and biased. p(tests are right) >> p(you are right)

Everyone thinks they are smart

Kaplan

@D2 for ex. I took the GMAT twice and scored >90% in quant the first time w/ average verbal and the 2nd time I took the test, my scores flipped... >90% verbal avg quant.. However my practice scores have been around the same range... Doesn't make any sense.

Practice full length tests. You may have an endurance problem

Sounds like a day of performance/head space issue. Instead of fretting about what could go wrong on the day of try visualizing what will go right. Get in a confident headspace

Recently I got invited to an interview with a decent growing company. I work in Executive Search and I am thinking of switching to in-house recruiting. During the conversation the recruiter made some weird assumptions about my current job. The interview took longer than expected and I feel like I have not delivered well. Was I wrong to expect in-house recruiter to understand the differences and similarities between in-house-recruiting, professional search and retained executive search?

Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

I’m a business analyst and I recently learned sql. I found it to be quite interesting. It’s making me want to transition into a more technical role, which is something I’ve always been interested in but never knew which area to focus on. I’m thinking of enrolling into a bootcamp or something similar and hopefully getting into more of data analyst roles. Any programs or boot camps you recommend? I was also considering a part time masters but not sure I can commit with how many hours I work.
