That sucks. Sorry. As a senior (white) HR leader I can tell you I’ve seen it too. A role will have a heavy emphasis in DEI or have it as a part of the title and I’ve then looked out of curiosity to see who they’ve hired 3 months down the line and they are white. 😳
I'm right there with you. It's super frustrating because I definitely think its important to have diverse candidates ESP in the HR department. I've definitely felt a certain type of way about it in the past, but I've learned to just reframe my thinking and know that they place was probably not a right fit for me if they are not as passionate about that subject as I am. Hoping you find something fit for you!
It's so frustrating because it's not like they can legally make "diversity hires" anyway, so even touting it is just an empty claim. At the end of the day people get nervous about any chance of real change in leadership and default to hiring someone that makes them comfortable/confident instead of the person that could give them the insights they claim to want. But they don't want them.
