I'm so frustrated with startups, established companies, CEOs, and Founders touting that they are looking for “diverse” CHROs. It's a lie! I'm tired and hurt when I go back and see who they hired. Ninety-nine percent of the time they never look like me.
I can’t function. I don’t have energy to do the smallest things. All I want to do is sleep. I don’t have to feel pain or deal with life when I sleep. I left my job because of this. I have a history of clinical depression and this is the worst episode I’ve ever experienced. I made an appointment with a therapist and to get on meds. Do I qualify for state disability even though I quit my job?

I was recently promoted, and now part of my team report to me. I'm now able to see their pay rates and I am honestly so disappointed in the company. Especially since we just gave annual raises in Feb, plus we can all see where the money is going and it's not to the employees. Makes me sick

We are exploring having a third party come in and assess our I&D efforts across our company. We have many locations across North America. Is anyone aware of an entity who does this? We have found questionnaires through target organizations and have done anonymous employee surveys but are hoping to find someone who can do an assessment for gender, minorities, disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+, etc. and provide feedback on the actual employee experience and where we may have blind spots.

Feeling like crap. Long story short, an employee who I am aware is suffering from anxiety and depression went AWOL today. Her manager was worried. I had no idea what to do in this case as everyone WFH in different states and so I called the police asking them to do a welfare check. Before that, I made every attempt to reach her and her emergency contact. No response. Long story short, police showed up and she was NOT happy. She made me feel as if I overstepped. What would you have done?
Any suggestions on how to continue helping a new employee in our dept when they do not take notes? I am always willing to help, but it is becoming frustrating to constantly go over the same thing. I have expressed that because our dept does so many things that it is good to take notes over the things we are going over. When our MGR was out of town I spent a large amount of time being patient and helping her all throughout the day. It is now taking time from the task that I need to work on.

Hostile work environment? 15 yes of HR experience- been w/current employer 1 year. Relationship w/manager is push & pull. The situation is stressful to the point it’s triggering health issues. Out of the blue today, my manager sends me an email titled “Accommodation Follow-Up”. Last week I wasn’t feeling well & took a 1 sick day to go to ER. There has been NO discussion for accommodations, nor any request made. But the email mentioned “pre-existing condition” and felt very intentional.
