Anyone continuing their Physical therapy during covid?
I have all these joint pains (knee, ankle) and it might be worth visiting a PT but not sure how okay it'll be considering covid!
One thing that really sucks about COVID is the fact that so many friends have moved away from the city. 🙁
Wife and I are both vaxed and boosted. We also just learned she is 6 weeks pregnant. We haven’t told family yet. Now I have Covid and am pretty sure she does too. Both symptomatic. I tested positive, she was negative. I’m losing my shit. Just had to vent that.
Do you think the following situation is a positive thing or could ruin my career? In my first case back from maternity leave, and first case during COVID, I was billing close to 300 hours a month. This is not the typical amount of hours billed in my group, but it also isn’t unusual or shocking. It seemed like I would continue billing close to 300 a month for the indefinite future due to staffing. I cried to a partner about it and the partner was very understanding, but now (cont’d)
What are your thoughts on firm deadlines for assignments? During COVID I gave them until the end of the 9-weeks without penalty. Not so sure I'll do it now that were back in class.
This whole coronavirus situation has made me look at some of the people in my friends circle differently - hanging out every weekend with all their kids, defying stay at home orders by going to the lake and boating with people, etc. One of them is a nurse too. It just makes me sick and I’m honestly disappointed.
Anyone else seeing an uptick in ED visits now? We are getting pretty busy with really sick (non-COVID) people. And A LOT of mental health patients.
Can't believe they canceled Ballmercon for 2020 due to covid...
Does anyone have Teledoc or other insurance-covered online/phone therapist recs for someone To help with eating disorders? I am really struggling and have had no access to talk to anyone since COVID.
Do you bring your work phone or laptop on vacation with you? Going away with partner for first time since covid hit and we both want to leave our work phones behind.
I've always been a runner but road running can be tough on joints. Now that I'm older and also thanks to COVID, I got more into trail running and it's been really fun: www.bodymindover40.com/blog/trail-running
Does anybody here have similar experiences?
Are there any parents on here who see this as reasonable? New state rule: If student is exposed to COVID, parents decide whether they quarantine
My accounts usually commission photography but the situation with COVID has them warming up to using illustration for key art.Apart from B&A and workbook, where should I be looking?
My mom constantly has headaches/migraines, it happens almost every other day and she says she feels sick. I‘ve been living at home due to covid and feel horrible seeing her like this. She’s in her early 50s, has anyone dealt with something similar and can offer any advice?
Planning a weeklong trip to Grand Canyon/Zion. Looking forward to a bunch of day hikes. A few places we wanted to hit up are closed due to COVID (like Antelope). Any lesser known recos?
Older workers and COVID unemployment... bogus firings and more. IBM is called out specifically here. The EEOC found that IBM engaged in “systematic” discrimination against older workers and there’s an open class action lawsuit. The stories in this video are appalling. If you are young, pay attention. You may be older one day - if you’re lucky. This can eventually come around to you. https://youtu.be/sjr27_K8SWc
Has anyone here successfully re-negotiated rent since the height of the COVID crisis? Live in NYC and can’t go back because I have to regularly take care of a family member with an immunodeficiency.
Hi ladies! We started this bowl because a few of us recently took new positions in the midst of COVID and are struggling with WFH. Here’s my story, please share yours! Just moved to a new country and joined a big local firm as a junior. I am a chronic procrastinator and I think it’s because I have low self-confidence, esp. with my writing style. Accountability is key to my productivity, and unless I’m micromanaged, I struggle to self-discipline. Will be sharing resources and tips in next post!
I started dating this guy some months before covid struck.. he was literally crazy about me. He even stayed in Hyderabad for months just so that we could meet once before he went on to stay with his family. After that it had been a real roller coaster. He pampered me a lot before and now he hardly talks. We both have switched to different companies (earlier were in the same) and now he works 6 days a week. Sleeps or Vists his relatives or works on Sundays. Sometimes I feel he no longer loves me.
Need your advice!

Has anyone had any experience with Water Street Partners for lateral recruiting? Reached out to me cold with a few ideas and I’ve had two follow up emails and a call with an MD at reputable banks, but it all seems very sketchy. For instance an “HR Specialist” reached out to me to set up a call, but when I look her up on LinkedIn she’s a IB VP. The MD I spoke to named a few other people he was going to have reach out, but haven’t heard from either of them. Just doesn’t feel like a normal process
Urgent help needed. TIA
My L1 petition expires next month, though I94 is valid for 3 more months. Does someone know what embassies are allowing non residents to apply for a renewal? Nationality India, if helpful.
I'm interviewing with PwC next week for a role that would be a lateral move salary-wise and is below my indicated salary requirements. But they have a manager role available on the team and want to meet with me to see if they think I'm management-worthy for them.
I'm currently at a very small company, so being considered by PwC is exciting. Should I seriously entertain the lateral move regardless? Because of the upward potential? Or would this be the kiss of death for that potential movement?
Massachusetts freelance but go to NY/travel for work occasionally. I am looking at marketplace insurance and leaning towards a Tufts plan. Anyone have problems with Tufts? The BCBS higher cost but there does not appear to be a good reason. I’m afraid of some of the smaller places/never heard of. Transitioning off Cobra with United Health. Anyone have advice?

I work at st Christopher’s hospital for children in Philadelphia PA. And RD starting salary is $61,000. I think this is very poor for having a specialty and going thru 5-8 years of schooling with 3.5 years experience. The hospital also did not give the clinical nutrition department a bonus because we aren’t considered direct patient care?? We are 100% direct patient care on the floors and every unit. Thoughts on this for any fellow RDs?
