Practice in the mirror! It seems dumb but once you get used to seeing your face while speaking, you will kind of feel like you're talking to a different person, therefore making you feel more at ease when communicating. Once you're comfortable doing this, practice with small groups of friends.
I did something similar and it worked great!
At the beginning the same thing happened to me, I think it's a matter of adapting. My mental exercise is to repeat that if I have the necessary knowledge, I have no reason to be afraid.
If you are not a spontaneous person, the best way is to write speeches, practice them in a mirror and record yourself, do it until you feel comfortable, that way you are your own judge, this is good to start with, but later you will control your nerves.
My strategy when I suffered from nerves was to speak with very technical language, which worked against me because I tended to make mistakes and my nerves attacked me more. So I decided to let go using my spontaneity, the same jocularity with which I speak in my group of friends, I use it to expose something, it is a success.
An engineer friend told me about rubber ducky debugging, where you explain your problem out loud to a rubber ducky (or whatever you have) and it helps you find the solution. Sort of like the talking in a mirror suggestion; I got myself a rubber ducky (dressed as a lil viking) and started practicing on him. It really does help.
